Comedy Wrestler Takes Centre Stage in Greene King's Tiny Pints Campaign

Greene King's innovative "tiniest pints" campaign has found the perfect face in comedian Ant McGinley, beloved by wrestling fans as the Pub Wrestling Federation in the hit comedy podcast Wrestling with the Champ.

The synergy between McGinley's podcast persona (the Ginger Ninja) and Greene King's mission to revive traditional pub culture creates a naturally-occurring connection. Just as the Ginger Ninja dominates the wrestling ring with theatrical flair, Greene King's miniature taster glasses are designed to conquer the intimidation factor preventing 31% of Gen Z pub-goers from requesting beer samples.

McGinley's involvement brings comedic authenticity to the campaign's core message: pubs should be welcoming spaces where trying something new feels natural, not nerve-wracking. His character's pub-centric wrestling adventures would perfectly complement Greene King's effort to preserve age-old pub traditions like asking for a cheeky sample before committing to a full pint.

"The Ginger Ninja knows his way around a pub," said Damien St John, Founder of Podomedy and Co-creator of Wrestling With the Champ. "While it's clearly Ant in the photo, the campaign cleverly demonstrates how modern marketing can honour pub heritage while embracing contemporary entertainment, bridging generational gaps through shared appreciation for community, humour, and great beer."

Nervous newcomers can explore a range craft beer options like Greene King's new Hazy Day Fruity IPA, at 4.3% ABV - a smooth fruity IPA with orange, citrus and tropical notes which is being rolled out of nationwide by Greene King this summer.

Ant McGinley can be seen performing in improv gameshow "FistyMania!" at Edinburgh Fringe, August 2nd to 12th (not 6th). Tickets are free. Find out more.
