Podomedy is celebrating a major milestone after scoring nine nominations across seven categories at the Independent Podcast Awards.
Among the finalists are some of the platform’s most-loved shows, including Fandomentals, Fetch the Smelling Salts, Dungeons & Dickheads, Ramon Fear’s Terror Tapes, Podcast Advice Show and Wrestling With the Champ.
The recognition spans a wide range of categories, reflecting Podomedy’s diverse catalogue and creative talent. Highlights include:
Best Use of Video – Podcast Advice Show, Wrestling With the Champ
Branded Content – Podcast Advice Show
Fiction – Ramon Fear’s Terror Tapes
Films & TV – Fandomentals, Fetch the Smelling Salts
Gaming – Dungeons & Dickheads
Horror or Supernatural – Ramon Fear’s Terror Tapes
Sport – Wrestling With the Champ (last year’s winner, returning to defend the title)
Damien St John, Founder and CEO of Podomedy, said: "We’re over the moon to see so many independent creators recognised this year. These nominations show the incredible breadth of talent on the Podomedy network, from horror fiction to comedy sport and everything in between. Podcasting can feel like a lonely pursuit sometimes; being celebrated by the industry really means a lot. I’m especially proud of the community that has grown around Podomedy and the way our shows continue to push boundaries whilst making people laugh.”
The Best Use of Video category has become increasingly important for independent podcasters. Video helps smaller shows stand out in a crowded market, giving creators another way to connect with audiences, build a stronger presence on social platforms and turn casual viewers into loyal listeners. For indie shows competing with bigger productions, it can make the difference between staying niche and breaking through to a much wider audience.
The Independent Podcast Awards take place at King's Place in London on October 15th and will bring together creators from across the UK for an evening of celebration, networking and recognition of the best in podcasting. Book tickets now.
For Podomedy, the nominations mark another step forward in championing independent podcasts and innovative storytelling.
