Podomedy, the UK’s independent comedy podcast network, today announces the addition of Park Creatures - a richly atmospheric, darkly funny and deliciously unsettling new audio series created by talented duo Sarah Thom and Sarah Toogood.
Blending surreal comedy, slow-burn suspense and audio craft of the highest calibre, Park Creatures invites listeners into the strange ecosystem of a very ordinary park… where things are anything but ordinary. Through a series of uncanny encounters, whispered warnings and bizarre behaviours observed on the park bench, Thom and Toogood build an offbeat world where the familiar becomes sinister, the everyday becomes absurd, and the creatures roaming the shrubbery have more to say than you might expect.
The series marks the first collaboration between Thom and Toogood outside the BBC, and its addition to Podomedy signals a significant expansion of the company’s slate into elevated comedy-horror storytelling.

Reviews:
A Surreal Walk in the Park
Each episode of Park Creatures centres around the voices, behaviours and mysteries that inhabit a local park. Thom’s sharp character instincts and Toogood’s immaculate sound design combine to bring the world vividly, eerily to life. The result is a short-form audio experience that feels part sketch comedy, part urban myth and part late-night fever dream.
Listeners can expect curious sightings, overheard confessions, existential ducks, overconfident pigeons, unhinged dog walkers... And maybe some murder. We may have already said too much.
Despite its uncanny premise, Park Creatures is powered by warmth, wit and a deep love of observational storytelling. The series playfully challenges what a comedy podcast can be, using the park as a stage to explore human nature through heightened absurdity.
A Major Creative Pairing
Sarah Thom is a long-established actress, writer and voice artist known to BBC Radio 4 audiences for Clare in the Community, The Lentil Sorters, and a wide range of character-led comedy and drama roles. Sarah's ability to shift between the poignant and the peculiar makes her a natural fit for Park Creatures’ idiosyncratic world.
Sarah Toogood is known for appearances on Sex Education, Britannia and Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. Sarah brings decades of expertise as an audio producer, shaping some of the BBC’s most reliable comedy output. Her meticulous approach to atmosphere, pacing and comedic tension grounds the surreal premise with polished execution, elevating every creature encounter into something cinematic.
Together, the pair deliver a podcast with real creative depth that feels handcrafted for listeners who crave something clever, strange and beautifully made.
A Significant Addition to Podomedy’s Expanding Universe
The partnership also marks an important milestone for Podomedy, whose roster of comedy-led shows has grown rapidly across scripted audio, character comedy, children’s storytelling and live-to-tape formats. The arrival of Park Creatures brings a new flavour to the network, aligning with Podomedy’s mission to champion distinctive, creator-led comedy with cross-platform potential.
Damien St John, Founder & CEO of Podomedy, said: “Park Creatures is one of the most darkly creative comedy podcasts we’ve heard in years. Both Sarahs have built a world that’s funny, endlessly imaginative and exactly the kind of boundary-pushing storytelling we champion at Podomedy. It’s a project that feels primed for multi-platform success, whether that’s short-form video, live performance or TV. We’re incredibly proud to welcome it to the network.”
