[00:00:00] So this is our final bonus August aquatic, watery episode and probably the most tangential connection to the water, Anya, would that be fair to say? Yeah, because there's no water in Oceans 11, is there, other than the Bellagio fountains? No, connected it, done. How do you like that? Nailed it. Thank you. But yeah, not a classic water-themed... I mean, Vegas not really known for its watery lagoons.

[00:00:26] No. Danny Ocean though is a great name. Amazing name. Amazing name. Yeah. Like, would he be as cool if he was like Christy Mountain? No, that sounds like a good answer, never mind. Christy Mountain. Or a country singer. Yeah. Although I'm Christy Mountain. Yeah, it works. We're heading down to Vegas, gonna rob that casino. Come on with me baby, and we'll see just how much it mean us.

[00:00:57] I don't know. And we are, of course, joined by one of our most frequent guests on this podcast. I was gonna say frequent collaborator, but that always sends him a mccusick of a war crime. Alan Grace, more popularly known as Gracie. Has he been on more episodes than anyone else? I think he might have been. The fifth Beatle. And he always comes in with a lot of heat, you know? Comes in hot. Yeah. He's, he's, I got very confused though, because I was trying to search for this yesterday and I found that you've had a podcast on your other podcast, I'll teach you with Alan Grace.

[00:01:25] And I genuinely was like, that's cool that you've had Alan Grace on to talk about maths. I was like, I didn't know he knew anything about maths. But I was like, well, he has a kid. I mean, maybe he wants to talk about maths homework. For all I know, Gracie is a maths whiz, but they are in fact two different Alan Graces. They are. I mean, this is coming out at the end of August. School is back. So if after hearing about Oceans 11, you'd like to hear a little bit about maths, you can go and find that episode of That'll Teach You with, yeah, Alan Grace, the four-eyed teacher on Instagram, I believe. I thought that was you insulting him.

[00:01:55] The four-eyed guy. Yeah, old Poindexter here with us. And actually, yeah, there's a whole new season of That'll Teach You just beginning. So feel free to check that out as well. But yeah, Oceans 11, it's, I mean, you've always been very clear on this, Anya. It's your favourite film of all time. My favourite films, right, I think are Oceans 11, Fellowship of the Ring, and Catch Me If You Can. Yeah, I mean, it's a good choice. Time is not long for you. Gladiator doesn't make it in there now?

[00:02:22] No, no. My next four then would be maybe Father the Bride, and then maybe Cool Runnings. Okay, yeah. They're my favourite movies. They're my actual favourite movies. Is The Fellowship, do you think that's notably better than The Two Towers and The Return of the King? No, I couldn't decide between that and The Two Towers, because The Two Towers has what I like to call Helm's Deep. Helm's Deep. Helm's Deep, yes. Helm's Deep. Helm's Deep. But I guess if I had to pick one, could I say the trilogy maybe? I don't know.

[00:02:51] What are your three favourite films? Don't overthink it. What do you want to watch? Back to the Future. Back to the Future. Yeah. I mean, I do love Wedding Crashers. You do love Wedding Crashers. Yeah. I do love Wedding Crashers. And... Oh, maybe, maybe like a Goodfellas. Okay, okay. Or I love Reservoir Dogs as well. Okay, that's a good list. That's a great film. Yeah. And V for Vendetta. Let's get that on there too. V for Vendetta? I've never seen it. Oh, only you'd love V for Vendetta. Would I? Oh, let's have a podcast watch.

[00:03:21] What is that? I don't know. Why do people... You know when people say, you'd love it? You'd love him. You'd really get on then. You meet them and you're like, well, I love this guy. Okay. No, I think you would love V for Vendetta because... Stephen Fry, Natalie Portman, big mask. Stephen Fry makes an appearance. Yeah. Hugo Weaving is behind the mask. I think you'd like it because it's dark, it's cool, it's suspenseful, it's clever but not too clever for itself. You know? I was going to say, not too clever for you.

[00:03:51] I was like, okay. Exactly. You'd still be able to follow what was going on. Follow along. Okay, well that's the main thing. Oh, it's great. It's a great film. It's directed by the Wachowskis who made The Matrix. I haven't seen The Matrix. The Matrix is great but I'm less sure you'd love it. I only know about The Matrix from our episode with David Kenny. My understanding is there's Zion which is clubbing and you wouldn't like that. Yeah, but I think that only really happens in the second movie. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:04:18] So Zion, I love how you said there's Zion which is clubbing. So Zion is the city. Okay. So it's not that it's just clubbing. But to be fair, yeah, there's a big clubbing and sex scene in the second one. Okay. But yeah, Ocean's Eleven. I mean, now, okay, so I'm going to say Back to the Future is a title. I'm going to say the sequels are like around a six. Right. For you, Ocean's Eleven is a ten. Perfect movie. It's a perfect movie.

[00:04:48] 12 and 13? 12 is the one in Venice, isn't it? 12 is bad. 12 is bad. Where's 13? 13, Al Pacino comes in. They're back in Vegas. They kind of go back to the classic. Oh, that's better. That's like a six or a seven. Yeah. But the second one is, but even when it's bad, it's good. I'll still watch it. But I've only seen the second, I've seen, I've only seen the second one twice. I've seen the third one once. I've seen the first one so many times. The first one is just the perfect film. And if you haven't seen it, that's crazy.

[00:05:18] It is crazy. It's great. It's great. And it's like, I'm not a George Clooney fan, as you know. I'm not. I think he's terrible. I think he's terrible. What? He's not a good actor. Michael and I don't agree with you at all. You don't agree at all. No, but I do maintain that he's perfect in Ocean's Eleven because he's just, that's... You love Brad Pitt though. I love Brad Pitt. You see, I think Brad Pitt's a good actor. It's who I don't know. I don't want to be a robber, but it's who I wish I was.

[00:05:46] You know, I love the idea of being that cool, you know, having a little gang and... I like that you called it a robber as well. Well, what would you say? No, you're right. I suppose they're high level thieves, but yeah, I think a robber is very like six year old in Ireland in the 90s. You don't hear a robber anymore. They were a robber. Yeah. Okay. He's a thief. But how do you feel about other things in the genre, say like Lupin?

[00:06:15] You liked Lupin, didn't you? I love Lupin. Lupin is basically French George Clooney. Oh no, he's a bit more French Idris Elba. I'm not just saying that because they're both black. He does look very like Idris Elba. He kind of has his swagger to him as well. Yeah. Yeah. So I can I make one? I love Lupin, right? And I was watching a lot to help with my French, which I'm trying to learn. I suppose to just that I need help with it.

[00:06:40] But I don't know if the plots are that complicated because I think the fact that we're able to follow them quite easily means that it's quite... I think it's like a kid's TV show for adults. And I think the same is true of Ocean's Eleven. It's a kid's movie for adults. Yeah, I think that's... But I think that's great, isn't it? Me too! No arguments with me. That's why Catch Me If You Can I'm is amazing. Yeah, that's true. Because that's kind of the same thing. A caper. This is the thing. Kids' books are so great.

[00:07:09] Like well written kids' books are so great. And yeah, you're right. If you could incorporate more of what makes children's literature, children's TV shows, children's films into... It's fun! It's an element of fun and play. And we don't get enough of that. Sorry, no offence. But I don't want to watch everything that's like V for Vendetta or The Matrix all the time. Yeah, it's true. Now it sounds like I'm just picking on movies that you like. But what's a real worthy... No, I know. What's a real worthy film that people go nuts for? Oh, have you seen... Has anyone seen... Have you seen...

[00:07:38] I can't think of a single movie. I remember going to see... It was a Martin Scorsese film called Silence, right? Yeah. Which was... Liam Neeson was in it. Andrew Garfield was in it. Adam Driver was in it. And it was set in Japan. And it was about... I think it was Christian missionaries who were being persecuted because they were trying to secretly convert Japanese people to Christianity. And it was all this...

[00:08:05] And it was about three hours long, right? No. I would say it was a good film. But it was miserable, you know? Like it was such a slog, you know? And I'm like, I am never gonna watch that again. Yeah. Whereas like Ocean's Eleven... I think the great thing about Ocean's Eleven or Back to the Future or one of these is... Even if you only had 20 minutes, you could just stick it on for 20 minutes.

[00:08:32] You'll have a great time no matter which 20 minutes you pick. And then you can come back to it later on. There's no slow 20 minutes in Ocean's Eleven. No. Other than maybe some of the romance-y bits. Yeah. Boring! Yeah. But I mean, they're still good. They're still good. But it's not... It doesn't linger too long on that. No. Exactly. It's all so good. Back to the Future, kids movie fraddles. Yeah. Absolutely. 100%. Who's your favourite of the eleven? I mean, you know I love Elliot Gould. You do. You do. Yeah. That's very true.

[00:09:00] I very much see myself in that role. I know you do. So... Yeah, so... I think you discussed this on the episode. Yeah. Who's your favourite? Gotta be Rusty, right? It probably is Rusty. I do love Brad Pitt. I do also like Bernie Mac. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah. And I think towards the end of the movie where they have that whole set up with him, with Saul, with Danny being taken in the back. All that little bit is very cool. How they basically do the heist. You know, when we eventually get to the heist itself, it's great.

[00:09:29] After all the planning of the heist and talking about the heist. Yeah. I just think Elliot Gould is living the life that I want to live. That's what's on my mood board. I just want to be in big, luxurious robe with my big glasses and eating salads brought to me by a pool. It's all I want. Yeah, listen. I mean, Ocean's Eleven is a great movie and I think this episode just gets to wallow in the enjoyment that we all take in it. But I think it's definitely... I feel you are a star of this show, because of how much you love it. And Gracie.

[00:09:58] Gracie's always good to have on about films. He's got some, you know, he's got some controversial views. Yeah. What I would say is if you haven't seen it, treat yourself this weekend. Put it on. Or if you haven't seen it in a while, give it another go. Take it out in the road. It's so good every time and you'll see something you hadn't noticed before. Yeah, it's very layered. It's a layered movie. But you know what I would love? I'd love if Estella or something did a re-showing of it. Ah, yeah. I'd love to go and see it in the cinema again.

[00:10:26] And I know Mike and I catch so much flack for this, but I do maintain the way films used to be made, it was just better. They looked better. Like what year was Ocean's Eleven made? 2004? I was going to say 2001, but... 2001? Oh God, I was way up. But it's just... I think I end up talking about 9-11 quite a lot in this episode as well. I said something terrible. The other great 11. Yeah. Did you ever watch the original Ocean's Eleven with Frank Sinatra? No.

[00:10:56] No, have you? You should really. No, I feel you should though as a... As a completist. I mean, famously not a completist. As a nod to the... I don't know if it can be an oeuvre. If it's just one oeuvre. Well, there's three of the oeuvre. Remade. Yeah. Oeuvre. I bet they could remake it now, right? So we're 25 years out from it now. Yeah. I think they could have another crack in it now. But not a new cast, the old cast. Oh, so everyone's just 20 years older. Yeah. Yeah, one last heist.

[00:11:25] So this is our last one of our August series. As we said, we have a new season coming to you soon. But at the start of November, we have our tour of the island of Ireland, where we are going to Belfast on the 1st of November. And then we are back in Dublin in Hen's Teeth in Dublin 8, 5.30pm on Sunday the 8th of November. Get your tickets now at our link tree. Enjoy the show. Gracie, do you remember we worked in a place and there was a guy in, I don't know if you were there,

[00:11:54] but the office next was called Roger. Oh yeah. And the maintenance man came in and said, sorry, I'm just looking for a Roger. And it was. It was. Hello and welcome to Legitimate Likes, the podcast where we take a look at some of humanity's most popular fascinations and we try to work out, are they really worthy of the hype?

[00:12:24] They may be likes, but are they legitimate likes? My name is Hugh. I'm not joined by regular co-host Will. I'm joined by returning co-host Alan Grace. Hi, Gracie. Thanks, Hugh. I'm back and I'm here to take over. You know, Gracie, I look, I have a lot of respect for you, but all I'll say is every time you come, you say you're going to take over and then you tend to disappear for a few months, you know? So this is it now. I mean, first of all, Will's gone. So the woke agenda is gone. So I can really spread my wings.

[00:12:54] Secondly, okay. I've realized I'm not the Wes Hoolan of podcasts. I'm the James McLean. I'm available. I won't get injured. You, you've had bake off contestants. You've had viral internet sensations, but they don't have what I have availability at the last minute. That's true. That is true. Yeah. You were, when it turned out I'd given you the wrong date for this recording and then changed it. Yeah. Not long ago. You were like, Oh yeah. 100%. You cut me. I bleed availability.

[00:13:24] Listen. And I mean, why would you be busy? Because you know, you're a, you're a man with a young family. It's this will won't be coming out probably till 2024, but it's in the run up to Christmas, you know? Oh yeah. What does Christmas look like in, in, in the Grace household? I am so tired. I had two birthday parties the weekend before this. This weekend I had the Panto, like three family dinners. It's a fucking nightmare. And we're still two weeks to go. Two weeks ago.

[00:13:49] I mean, I'll describe my wife's attitude when I announced that I was doing a podcast tonight about an hour ago. Livid. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. But you know what? Rightly so. That's what you need to do. We're, we're what you need to keep the marriage alive. I do want to get another, another opinion from another family man. Michael, producer Michael, speaking of, speaking of what? Speaking of what?

[00:14:15] Uh, fathers who are avoiding their family in a spare room. Perfect. Michael, are you tired? I'm so tired all the time. Yeah. It's, it's, it's a bit of a superpower though. And that I always have a, a deep well of tiredness to draw upon to allow me to sleep in any public place. Oh, I don't have that power. You know, I make it work for me. And Michael, where's the, where's the most recent place you've fallen asleep that one wouldn't normally fall asleep? Um. Sorry.

[00:14:45] I suppose you don't understand the concept of somewhere where one wouldn't normally fall asleep. Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I briefly fell asleep on a bus the other day. If that, if that helps you. But you must do that all the time, do you? Yeah, I do. I'll do like a little sort of micro nap. Yeah. Have you ever missed a stop on a bus because you were asleep? Not on a bus, but I did, uh, I did end up at the terminus on a dart. So that's a train. Yeah. Yeah. A couple of years ago. Yeah. That's not that bad. I ended up in Waterford once when I fell asleep on a train. That's okay.

[00:15:15] That's quite, that's quite a while ago. Went to Kilkenny. Yeah. Went to Waterford. It's quite far away. Beautiful, beautiful place. Speaking of getting public transport to the terminus, Anya, I walked you to a bus recently and we decided to walk further because- We walked really far and through the terrifying streets of Dublin. I mean, the things we saw. Things were kicking off. Yeah. It was not great. Yeah. And, and then we stood and looked at the bus, right? As if I was trying to sell it to Michael. Like at one point I nearly kicked the tires. I was so, and Michael was so impressed with the size of my country bus. Yeah. It was really big.

[00:15:44] And do you like getting it from the terminus because it's there early and you can get on and have a sit? You get on and you sort of feel like you're going, like you're, like you said, Michael, I was like Rose boarding the Titanic. I did say that. You know, on a big journey and going on a big trip. The gangway's down. I'm paying my, like, two euro 80. Yeah. And, uh, yeah. And a two euro 80 gets you from city centre Dublin out to your little rural spot in Kildare. Yeah. Yeah. It's not bad at all, is it? And how much do you pay to get back into Dublin? There must be more. Yeah. It must be a tariff.

[00:16:15] Oh, there, yeah. There's a total. Yeah. There's a tax. It's more of a quota really. Yeah. Yeah. Some days you just don't get in. Yeah. Stop the boats. Yeah. Did you enjoy our walk to the bus, Michael? I did. I did. I did. You certainly made the most of getting the bus from the terminus by engaging not one, but many bus drivers in conversation, which was, which was very nice for you. I thought. Yeah. Well, that's the value of the terminus is, is buses pulling up to far flung destinations. Kinagad, Mullagar.

[00:16:44] What's the difference between a terminus and a terminal? I've got to ask at this stage. It's gone on too long. No, a terminal is like the. Yeah. I have no reason to know this. The first, the first word of your answer shouldn't be no. When I asked what's the difference. I'm trying to learn. I didn't tell you you were wrong. Well, like a terminal is the building, right? But the terminus is the last stop, right? Is that just because it's a terminal with a bus? Well, I was, well, confusingly my term, my term, this is beside the terminal. Yeah. Yeah. It was confusing.

[00:17:14] It was beside Busaurus. Now, and I also told Michael, Michael said. Surely it's Busaurus. I told Michael. It's not a dinosaur. There's an abandoned theater under Busaurus. Yeah. Isn't that so cool? Very cool. Very cool. Abandoned theater, I mean, anywhere is cool. Yeah. Under a bus station. Under Busaurus? Yeah. Yeah. It's some operation. I can't picture it. Well, Gracie's never. I'm sure I must've been there one time in my life, but I don't know if I have actually. I can't, I can't, I actually can't think of a situation in which you would ever have had to.

[00:17:44] I think I had to get one to Irish college or something. Get a bus. No, that was a train. I'm having a memory, Gracie, of the time you dropped me at a petrol station on the Keys. Do you remember that? Just, just boot it and run. I, that's, we were coming back from Cork and you, you just sort of, you started just letting people off like, but you weren't really, like the drop off was a lot less jubilant than the pay off. I can imagine. It always is. It always is. Yeah. Like you dropped us off, you dropped us off like old rubbish at the side of the road.

[00:18:14] Do you remember when we went to, I wonder, was it the same petrol station where we got our battered Mars bars? It was exactly that petrol station. Yeah. It was exactly that petrol station. Oh, listen, some of the happiest moments of your life. So. Well, no, the getting dropped off by Gracie wasn't, it wasn't great. No, no, but Gracie, you had a tiny little car, but you'd driven so many people. I did. My little Polo. I miss it. So yeah, there was like seven or eight people in it in my memory, but that can't be true.

[00:18:41] But, um, Busaurus has that kind of energy, you know, it's that sort of charm. There's a lot of, there's a lot of overhang on the Busaurus building, which I always find impressive, you know? Do you? How's it staying up? You know? Yeah. A lot of buses under that building. Yeah. A lot of space for a bus. I love when you get the bus actually, it actually goes from Busaurus because you get to go in like to like a gate, there's a plane. Yeah. God, it's so little things guys, you know?

[00:19:08] Like I put it up there with like life improving experiences, like the day you become a regular in a place. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. When they know you. Yeah. I've got a question for Michael. Yeah. Which is, Anya says you were really impressed by the size of the bus. Yeah. Like it's a normal coach. It's a normal 53 seater bus or whatever. Like what's going on there? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's this monstrosity that she rides around the country. No, it's like a dreamliner. It's huge. It's two stories.

[00:19:38] Okay. Double decker. It's like a coach on top of another coach. Like it's a very, I don't know. Two stairs, Hugh, front and back. Nice. Two flights of stairs. Yeah. And some of the tables have sort of railway style seating, like a table with sort of a banquette facing each other. Yeah. And you didn't see the dining car and the man that comes around to make up your cabin. I mean, it's like, oh, wee. But let's be clear. Still a bus. End of the day. Still a bus. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:20:08] It's true. But you could. Do you ever take the bus, Gracie? I've still. Oh, I do. Actually, I do. I take my daughter into Spanish on the bus now. Have a Saturday morning. Into Spanish? Yeah. Spanish lessons on a Saturday. That's adorable. In the Instituto Cervantes. Exactly. Maybe you don't want to out where your kid is. Yeah. Have a Saturday morning. But yeah. Exactly there. How old is she? Five? She's turning five in about a week's time. We're really giving all our personal info right here. Yeah.

[00:20:38] You can find her here on a Saturday morning. She'll be five in six days time. They don't know when we recorded this. Although I did say it's 14 days to Christmas, so there. Do the lights. 2023. Michael, what are we doing here? Well, what are we doing here? I'm sure the listeners are asking themselves that. This week, we're talking about 2001 superstar ensemble heist caper blockbuster, Ocean's Eleven. Directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring a Vegas sized serving of Hollywood talent.

[00:21:05] It was enormously popular on release and gave us a couple of sequels too. We've probably referenced, I think, this film on every second episode. Like we talk about this film a lot, but today we decided to give it its own time and decide if it's a legitimate like. So we're going to get into that. But first, let's get into the Legitimate Likes Three Questions quiz. Awn, do you want to kick it off? Okay. Why is Don Cheadle uncredited on Ocean's Eleven? Because he's terrible. Yeah.

[00:21:35] Why did they either not hire an English actor or make his character American? I will never, ever, ever, ever understand that. Or just stick to one accent. Yeah, or just insist that he do an accent that's something like a British accent. Or just consistent. The first time you see him, he's doing a gentleman's English accent and then something goes wrong and he's into proper Frank and whoever the other Mitchell brother is. I remember seeing an interview with him where he said, like, I think he's, subsequently he's fessed up to it being a terrible accent.

[00:22:03] But he said at the time that, you know, I asked my agent and he said it was fine. I'm like, he's your agent Don Cheadle. He says everything is fine. So, yeah. Anyway, why is he not in the poster? I think I know the answer to this, Anya. But let's see if the guys can winkle it out. Like, at a really safe guess, I'm going to guess he was contracted to be doing another movie and there's some sort of Screen Actors Guild rule that he couldn't be credited while he was taking rates or something like that.

[00:22:33] Yeah, you're right. I like the very boring route you're going down on. I respect that. Yeah. I was just going to say, I don't know, did he come in last minute for someone else or something? So, yeah, it was a row with the production company. So Don Cheadle wanted, you know, on the poster that it would have like, I presume it had Andy Garcia, you know, picked. Do you think Andy Garcia is the star of this movie? We'll come back to that. He's the hero. Certainly. But he wanted his name front and center because he had just been in traffic. And I think his stock was very high at the time. That's it, he was late.

[00:23:05] And basically his reps couldn't come to an agreement. So for some reason he said, well, fine, don't credit me then at all. I don't really understand the logic that was, but that's why Don Cheadle is not credited on the movie. Kind of wild because I know his stock was high and he had done a couple of big films. Like it was probably the apex of his career around then, right? I know he went on to be in the Marvel movies after that, but you kind of get subsumed by all the other actors in the Marvel movies. But for him to think that he was going to be up there with Pitt and Clooney, who were clearly, this was their vehicle.

[00:23:35] Seems wild, right? Interesting, Michael. And yeah. And what? Yeah. So you think the two, two white guys should be just up on top? No, all the white guys. Okay. Okay. All the white guys. There are loads of people in this film. I just don't think that of the, so there are 11. So Bernie Mac and Don Cheadle shouldn't be. Yeah. And Julia Roberts as well for other reasons. Okay. The five, the five on the poster.

[00:24:04] So the, I suppose who the movie thought were the big stars were George Cooney, Matt Damon, Andrew Garcia, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts. Yeah. So Matt Damon was probably the junior partner there maybe at the time, was he? Yes, he was. Everyone always thinks Matt Damon is the star stuff, you know? And I'm always like, Matt Damon? Just a face, isn't he? Yeah. Well, I think it was pre-born, right? Was it pre-born? So that was where he really... Well, I thought you said he's pretty born. He's pre-born. He's pre-born. Oh, he's pre-born. Okay.

[00:24:34] Michael, your second question, please. The brothers Virgil and Turk Malloy were played by Casey Affleck and Scott Cannes, but which real life siblings were the first choice to play them? I'm going to give you three options to pick from. Was it Mark and Donnie Wahlberg? Was it Owen and Luke Wilson? Or was it James and Tom Franco? I mean, like they're the comic relief. So you would hope it's the Wilsons, you know? Like that's very much the energy. Franco, surely too young. Yeah.

[00:25:04] Too young, too hot. And the Wahlbergs... Wahlbergs, yeah. Getting that big, you know, Boston accent out for a bit of an argument there. Yeah. Bit of comedy. While energy. Gracie, can you do a good Mark Wahlberg? I'd say you've got the urgency. I'd say you can pull it off. I'd say if Gracie can do a good Wahlberg. I can see it. Just find me like... Oh, I need to find a Vietnamese shop owner to beat up in a racially motivated attack to get my vibe. Give us five minutes. Yeah.

[00:25:35] Yeah, it's gotta be the Wilsons, right? And Hugh, you're spot on. It was Owen and Luke Wilson. So I think they couldn't... They were first choice. They couldn't do it because they were due to film The Royal Tenenbaums. I think it was. Yeah, but Owen Wilson, I think, is best friends with Wes Anderson, isn't he? So that's why they were kind of so invested in the Royal Tenenbaums movie. Yes. But they were also probably the peak of their fame, maybe, of their careers. Are you...

[00:26:02] Everybody we mentioned, are you gonna say, it was probably the peak of their career? They were all peaking, you know? But I think it would have been amazing. And I also think the... I mean, the chemistry between the two of them, it really could have... I don't know, the movie could have gone in a different direction. Or certainly the sequels could have gone in a different direction. I mean, in fairness to Casey Affleck, and I won't say that lightly, because he's another bad man. The two of them do a great job. Interestingly, Mark Wahlberg was actually...

[00:26:31] I think his first choice for the... Was it Linus Caldwell? Is that his name for the Matt Damon role? So they wanted Mark Wahlberg... Michael always does this. He's like, was it... He's like, you've got the name written in it. You know it's Linus Caldwell. Why are you doing that? Does it make you sound more Ira Glass if you're like... Was it this? Was it Linus Caldwell? I don't know. Anyway, I did my reading. It's cool. I'm gonna show it. You're literally doing your reading now, Michael. I'm watching your eyes. There's no digi reading, you're doing reading. Scan the text. Yeah.

[00:27:01] Anyway, question three. In the movie, the gang planned to rob three casinos. Can you name the three casinos in question? The Bellagio and the Mirage are two of them. I'm pretty sure. What's the third? You've stolen the two, I knew. The palace? No. No, it's the something as well, is it? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, well, kind of. Yeah. I mean, isn't everything the something? No. Well, not the Caesar's Palace. It's just Caesar's Palace. Yeah.

[00:27:31] Like, the Ocean's Eleven, you know? That's what I call everything. Oh, there's the Danny Ocean again. What else is there? There's the Luxor. There's the... I think I know what it is. I've never been to Vegas, but... Gracie, you must have been to Vegas. Shocker. No, never. What? That shocks me that you haven't been on like 14 Stags. Yeah. Stags and... Yeah, the Stags went kind of wild for a good bit there with their destinations and their

[00:28:00] eight days to set aside and all the rest, but Vegas... What's your strangest location for a Stag that you've been on? Oh God, I don't have been anywhere too strange. Lisbon and stuff like that and Madrid and Barcelona and all the usual jumps. That's... I didn't know what you were going to say. Nah. Nothing crazy. Murmansk. I always thought it was like a hunting man on a small island. Oh God, that'd be fucking great, wouldn't it? If you could get away with it, like... Yeah. Yeah. Like, no repercussions. No one ever knows.

[00:28:30] What, you mean if you get the time away from home? Yeah. Just... Yeah. If only. You know, like when you book a day's annual leave and pretend you're in work but really you're home playing FIFA. If you could just nip off and hunt someone. Who would you like to hunt? Em... Demographic. You can say... Or individual. You can say... No, maybe Michael. I think... I'd say Michael would really run. Yeah. Yeah. If you gave Gracie a shotgun. Do you know what? I think you'd both enjoy that. Michael, I think you'd enjoy being hunted by Gracie.

[00:29:00] Well, it's a real battle of whips at that stage. Yeah. But hunted for sport? Yeah. Who do you think would win here? I'd go... I've got the shotgun. I'd go full Rambo. I'd go full Rambo. I would become one with nature. Yeah. I would. Michael would have an unbearable desire to survive and thrive. It's true. I think... I think Michael would survive quite a long time. Yeah. But ultimately, Gracie's gonna have him like... Time's not on my side though. Like I've gotta get home. But Gracie, also if you were on a tropical island, you and I both know you'd have Russell

[00:29:30] dead, a little six pack of cats. I'd be great. Have a great one. In your Hawaiian shirt. Oh no, yeah. You'd get too distracted. See that's it. The shotgun would be in one hand and if Michael happened to scurry by, you'd just raise it up then. I don't know. In my dream scenario, I'm hunting a thicko. Like... Yeah. What's your weapon of choice? A hammer. You want a knife. You want to be up close, don't you? I think I'd like to finish with a knife to say like, you know, oh, you know, so next time like some vegetarian goes, oh, would you ever kill like a cow? No.

[00:29:59] Well, if you're not willing to do that, you can't have a burger. I'm like, I've killed a human. I slit his throat and watched him die. Yeah. Now give me my chicken nuggets. Is that from a song? Is it? I killed a man today, oh boy. That's not the words, is it? You're thinking of a boy called Sue, aren't you? Just to watch him die. Or... No. You're thinking of Folsom Prison Blues. Am I? Yeah. I killed a man to watch him die. In Reno. In Reno. Just to watch him die. I killed a man in Reno, just to watch him die.

[00:30:30] Yeah, yeah, yeah. Great song. Reno. See, the thing is... Ever been to Reno, Gracie? No, it's on the list though. I'm banking on it. If Gracie's coming up for me, I'm banking on him hitting the island. As you say, he's overconfident. He's got his weapon. I don't have a weapon. He's got some snacks. He gives me a 24 hour lead time. I am in the wind. He is not going to get me. Why is he giving you a 24 hour lead time? Have you met Gracie? Because he's going to hunker. Michael's back on the Gulf Stream. He's going to hunker down.

[00:30:58] He's going to crack into the six pack and you know, whatever. But by the time he finds me, I will... You love him with a six pack, don't you? I will have established an ecologically sound collective... That's ultimately what's going to kill you, Michael. If you'll be too anxious to get a look at him shirtless. You? He'll keep sneaking back to his camp. Michael, do you want to tell everybody why you couldn't meet me for lunch today? What were you doing this afternoon? I was at home waiting for a man to come and service my boiler.

[00:31:29] And you seemed to find that hilarious. Yeah. Was it crazy? No. No, it wasn't. Michael would not be able to contain himself. I get the feeling Michael thinks he's going to be some sort of god king to whatever natives are on this island. That's what he says. Oh, you give me 24 hours. I'll be running the place. Yeah. They won't tell you where I am. Yeah. I'll be like Kurtz in Hard Darkness by the time you find me. You know, I'll own that island. So anyway.

[00:31:57] And if the roles were reversed, do you think you'd get crazy? Oh yeah, I wouldn't do well being haunted. You wouldn't have the stomach though, Michael. You wouldn't have the stomach to kill him. He wouldn't have the stomach. He'd be looking at crazy stomach. I don't know. I think I'd... We've actually... Yeah, yeah. I was gonna say we've never met in real life, but we have. I remember now we have. Everybody have, yeah. What if we twoed you guys up with the same weapons? Who do you think comes out on top? Oh, me. Yeah, I reckon so. Yeah. Gracie, you're wonderful, but I think... Oh no, I...

[00:32:27] I think you'd be seduced by the... Would he suffer from a bit of the Anyas, Michael? Or Anya as well? Like just be like, ugh, I just couldn't be bothered. No, the... The Anyas! The whole point of my fantasy is to hunt a defenseless person. But that's a lot of fun, you wouldn't be bothered. I don't want... To hunt Michael to the death. No, to hunt a defenseless person. I'm not here for a fight. I'm here for an experience of taking a life. This isn't... This isn't, you know, man's greatest challenge. That's another song. How to take a life. A life! Wow.

[00:32:57] Which of us would you most like to hunt, Gracie? Oh. I'd say, if I'm looking for the easy kill, I'm looking at Anya once again. Yeah. Yeah. You wouldn't be able to do it. That would be the only difficulty. Yeah. Yeah, that smiling face. Yeah. Yeah. Will, obviously, sorry. Will, I suppose. Will, yeah. In fact, maybe that's why he's not here. Hugh, you'd be...

[00:33:25] You'd get so angry if you were being hunted for sport, I think. Very annoying. I think he'd be so annoyed. Yeah. I'm so tired. I'm absolutely wrecked. Yeah. I just... Well, that's not staying in. That's... That's... That's not a very good Hugh, is it? I don't know. It's like, what's not staying in? Yeah, that's nice. The knife. Right. So, Michael. Yeah, well, look, I wanted to start off with... Oh, sorry. That's true. The other casino.

[00:33:55] Oh, the other casino. Oh, yeah. The other casino is the MGM Grand. The MGM Grand, right? Yeah. Yeah. I know you're thinking that wasn't a very good question. But that's because I had the same second question as Michael. So... Oh, did you? I had to go on the fly. The one about the Neville brothers. What about your first question not being very good? What was the reason for that? Was that also the same second question as Michael? Well, I have a lot of thoughts about the movie and that took up a lot of my time. Can I kick us off? Yes. Right.

[00:34:26] One of the best things about the film is the catering throughout is superb. Now, just a couple of examples. Okay. Brad Pitt is eating a prawn cocktail at one point. Yeah. And it just looks so delicious. Elliot Gould has an amazing salad laid on. He does. Then when they get together to plan for the heist, a lovely outdoor barbecue situation. Oh, yeah. It's a nice one. Yeah. A lot of great food. You know, I think it really captures the opulence and the indulgence of Vegas.

[00:34:55] And I love it. I think Brad Pitt is sort of eating in almost every scene, right? Yeah. Yeah. Lollipops. And apparently that was sort of a choice that he made because I think it was to emphasize the fact that while everything in the film was going on, they were all working in the background to get the heist ready. And so he wouldn't have time to sit down and get a meal. So he's like, this guy's got to be just grabbing food wherever he goes. And if he's in a casino, it's convenient. I think it's also, I think he does a lot of movies. Yeah. That's such a bullshit excuse. Yeah.

[00:35:24] He's doing a, it's an affectation to be like, look, I'm so good. I'm so sexy. I can, I can just, I'll be eating shrimp in this one and it's fine. Yeah. No one else is much away through this scene. I'm just going to eat. Tyler Durden eats a good bit of food, doesn't he? You know? There's a lot of- Who's Tyler Durden? Fight Club. Brad Pitt and Fight Club. I haven't seen it. This comes up every single episode. Every single episode. I go, I haven't seen it. Be a bit grimy for you, I'd say, Anya. Yeah. Have many men shouted at you when you've told them you haven't seen Fight Club? Cause I can imagine that being a reaction.

[00:35:54] You haven't seen Fight Club! Yeah. Yeah. Men are great. It's always good to have someone to just show you the ropes of the popcorn. Take you to task on things. Yeah. So I think the food is great. And I, I love the Brad Pitt eating thing. It may be an effective choice, but I think it's a great choice. But he does do it a lot. Like in, in Burn After Reading, he's always chewing gum. Like I think he must have something that he thinks he looks great when he's chewing. He's not wrong. Yeah. Yeah. You, now you want to talk about Michael getting giggly about the boiler man.

[00:36:25] You get very funny about Brad Pitt. I don't think there's anything funny about it at all. It's a serious deep lust I have for him. Yeah. You know? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, listen, I don't understand the argument, you know? Yeah. He just, he really. But the, but the chewing plays into that. Cause this is, this is what he's done his whole career. He took so long to lean into being a pretty boy. He obviously had tell him and Louise first, but then he went and did that movie California. And he did seven.

[00:36:52] He did lots of things where he was playing against just being the heart of it. So he's like, you know, doesn't want to be too sexy. So eating and chewing his way through scenes is, you know, his way of being like, ah, I'm an actor. And then later on, he can lean into that. Yeah. I do think he has amazing comedy chops. Oh, he's very funny. As well. I think he's inherently just very, very, something about him that I just find very funny. Like, do you remember when he was in France? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's amazing. He's unbelievable in that. Have you seen that one?

[00:37:22] Oh, you'd love that. You'd love that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a bit of violence, but it's very funny as well. I mean, I have watched The Walking Dead, so I'd probably be okay. I think you'd be fine. Yeah. You'd be fine then. And you'd love Christoph Waltz in it. You'd love Brad Pitt. You'd love Michael Fassbender. Listen, it's brilliant. Do they all make you very giggly? No, I'm not a big Fassbender guy, you know? No, he's a bit rough and ready for you, I'd say. Yeah. Maybe that's it. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:37:49] Look, this is, this is a, this is a bad way to start because it's kind of a loaded question, but the question I want to ask is what, why, what do we think makes this film so good? I think it's amazing. I think it's so rewatchable. It's a lot of fun. I want to hear what, what are your favorite things about the film? It's the right way to ask that, ask that question because it is so good. I'd be, I'd be cynical about a lot of movies.

[00:38:10] I've, I've lambasted movies that people think are, you know, untouchable things like Forrest Gump and like the Shawshank Redemption or Goonies, things people pretend to like, but are really shite. And there's a lot of bad heist movies out there. And so much of this movie does not make sense. There's so many plot holes. So much of it should be terrible, but it's fucking brilliant from start to finish. Every bit of it. It's amazing.

[00:38:35] You know, every, every, every time they do a 20 second tracking shot through a casino rather than a two second one to set it up. It's not wasted time. It's great. Yeah. It's a little glimpse into that world. It's perfect. It is. It is. And I also, there are better films. Yeah, obviously all of the actors in this film have been in better films, but I don't know if there's a cooler film. It's very, very cool.

[00:38:58] And clearly like they really recaptured and sort of refresh that sort of rat pack magic, which I've never seen the original, but I guess that's why the original worked and why it was remade. And it's so cool. Like, cause you know, in the hangover, like you see the seedy side of Vegas. Yeah. This kind of captures the. The magic side. The glitz. The glamorous magical side of Vegas. Yeah. And even like they're all criminals, but they're all lovely and pally.

[00:39:24] But see, I think the, the, the way they get away with this is that like they're, he's, he's not, you know, he's robbing terrible people. Yeah. I think it's, I think it's so clever. Is he though? Is he though? They don't ever have to be like, oh. Or has, I like, this is another reason. I like a movie that's just going to hold your hand and tell you who the bad guy is by the fact that he's on screen less than the good guys. From what I get, from what I can tell, Benedict is only bad because he's a good casino owner. Yeah.

[00:39:53] And he has an evil, he has an evil guy's hair, but they make it very clear. Yeah, they do. This man is evil. Yeah, but he wears it as well. And he has a weird, and he has a white jacket, like sort of like, who am I thinking of? You know, he's, yeah, he's got, he's got big, big evil energy. Yeah. I mean, there's no joke. He's the baddie. Danny Ocean's the gooddie. Do you know what annoys me though? And maybe I'm wrong because I think I only saw this movie once because it was terrible. But in the second one, right? They've stolen all the money from him.

[00:40:20] And then in the second one, he's like, oh, I'm going to kill you if you don't give the money back. And then they're like, oh, we better give the money back. What? Why did they? So the whole, so the whole thing, and this is kind of, it's sort of, not that they plan to make a sequel, but it sort of is preface in the first film by, they say that when Terry Benedict finds out that it's you, he'll go to work on you and then he'll go to work on your family. He's not the type of guy you want to know that you've stolen from him.

[00:40:48] So the whole point is in the first film, they can't know, he can't know that it was them stealing from him. And then in the second film, the Night Fox comes and tells Terry Benedict that it was them. And that's how the whole thing is set up. I know, but Benedict also is them. Yeah. No, he doesn't in the first film. Because remember the whole thing was Danny Ocean is in that room. I know that. But he still knows it's them. He still knows it's them. He has his suspicions. Yeah, but he has... Oh, so sorry, but so a suspicion isn't enough for a man who's going to murder people to get... Like obviously... No, he's a mercenary to tell him. The second film is so...

[00:41:18] I think he's a traditionalist because, because Ruben says, you know, in the old days... Yeah. You hit a guy, he hit you back. Yeah, he whacked you. Yeah. But the whole threat was that he bankrupt your family. They've all got like millions of dollars. Hugh's right. It's a ridiculous scenario. Anyway, the whole point is the second movie is terrible. The first one's bad. What I get very worked up about is how would you spend any of that money? Like how do you explain away $15 million? Do you know what I mean? Nail salons. Yeah. Yeah, but you're going to spend so much time in admin. Oh! I don't know that it was...

[00:41:47] Trust me, my family know a lot about tax evasion. It's all admin. For the record, my family do not have paid tax. We avoid it. Yeah, far about it. We talked a bit about Terry Benedict there. I think it's time for a bit of an appreciation of Terry Benedict. Because obviously the cast is stacked, right? There's a lot of great, great characters, a lot of great actors. And Terry Benedict is equal to them. Andy Garcia is amazing in this film.

[00:42:17] So good. Yeah. He's such a good villain. I like it. Yeah. His clothes are absolutely incredible. Yeah. Won't kiss Julia Roberts in front of CCTV. Another baller move. Yeah. Why would he not kiss her? I didn't understand that. Because there's always everywhere in his casino. Yeah. But it's his girlfriend. If they see him kissing his girlfriend, they'll think he's gay. It's so obvious. Yeah. Have you never been to school on it? Did you like that Julia Roberts? No, but she's not Vegas. She's really classy.

[00:42:47] She curates an art gallery in Vegas. Yeah. The one on about the Vermeer is like, yeah. The Vermeer in Vegas, do they? They probably do. They do, yeah. I mean, they've got a second Eiffel Tower. I'm sure they can get a painting or two. Yeah. Yeah. Have you been to Vegas, Michael? I have. I was at Vegas once. Yeah. Fine. What'd you do there? Who would have thunk it? I had my reasons for being in Vegas. Why were you in Vegas? I had some business to attend to. In Vegas? In Vegas, yeah.

[00:43:17] Did you go to the toilet? I have to say- We had a conference. All great guesses, guys. Thanks very much. You were definitely there as a child. You were there as a kid. You were there as a kid. No, no, no. I was there about seven or eight years ago. Maybe. Why? Yeah. You were on a stag. No, I don't want to go there. I don't want to go there. You were there for work. I was there. I was there. It was either a holiday- It was business or pleasure. Were you there for work? I was there. I was on my own.

[00:43:46] I was there for three days. Work. That's true. I have to say, it was amazing. I loved Vegas. What did you do? I saw the sights. I went everywhere. Did you go to the pool party? I went to the big- You know the big- Why is he avoiding so many questions? The big water- We don't care about that. We don't care about the roller coaster. Was Vegas the main place you were going to on this trip? Yeah. Did you go to America for Vegas? No.

[00:44:15] I had to make a couple of stops, okay? I had to make a couple of stops in America. Were you going to a legal Nevada brothel? No. And this was just the big town that you had to drive in. Michael, if you're going to tell me- Every time- If you're going to tell me when I keep- I can already see Michael saying, You need to cut the bit before you ask if I went for work. Michael, do you know how many people go to America for work? You can say you went to America for work. If you didn't, that's when it becomes- Yeah. You've got to tell us. Or was it work? I could say that. I could say that. I could say many number of things.

[00:44:45] Michael, did you gamble? I did. I put on a couple of wuss bets. I was like, I'm in Vegas. I obviously, I never gamble otherwise. But when I was in Vegas. Did you talk crypto with strangers? No. Did you get married? No. No. No. No, I didn't. No. Did you do anything crazy? Did you see any celebrities? No, I didn't see any celebrities. I wouldn't recognize a celebrity. I saw them. Were you a sort of a sugar baby on the arm of an older woman?

[00:45:14] I was going to ask a similar question. Yes. Only it was going to be like a nice little boy. Like a nice little 23 year old boy for some of the- Like a kind of a- A valet. Was it like, was it like, you know, at the end of Squid Game? You know when Squid Game gets really bad? Yeah. When they bring in all the rich Americans. Yeah. Were you like one of the waiters in there? Yeah, it was funny because at the end I thought I was supposed to pay them, but they thought they were supposed to pay me.

[00:45:41] So it was, it was just total, you know, comedy of errors. Anyway, I was prepared to hate Vegas because by reputation- Oh, what? Do you mean you'd love it? No, but by reputation I thought it was gross and seedy. But you know what? It's like a big adult theme park. Not adult theme park. Adult theme park. It's pretty adult, Mike. Yeah. I feel Whistler's like an adult theme park. I feel Vegas like an adult theme park. Yeah. It's done well though.

[00:46:11] It's done well. I like it. Were you done well? Would go back. Would go back. I enjoyed it. Yeah. I went out to the sign, the big, whatever, fabulous Las Vegas sign. Oh, that's so sad. You and your fucking business suit. That won't stay in. I can swear what I want. Yeah, because no one could wear a suit. If we know Michael wears a suit, then we'll track him down no problem. Load it up on Molly pointing at a sign. I think I would love it. I would love to go.

[00:46:40] But I'm not willing to just go on a trip that's just to Vegas, so it'll have to be incidental to another trip, I think. It's near the Hoover Dam. Have you ever got to go to the Hoover Dam? I'm not going to go to Los Angeles or something. The Hoover Dam? Yeah. Why don't you just go to Mount Rushmore on your holidays, Michael? Oh my God. I happily would. Can we go? Where is Mount Rushmore? South Dakota. Do you see? South Dakota. Yeah. Have you been? No. I just know stuff. Yeah, he knows too many things. Trivia bot activated. Go back and listen to the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire episode.

[00:47:09] I nearly know everything. Oh yeah, little fact I picked up from that episode. Something me, Hugh and Michael have in common. Yeah? No way. Yeah. Is it what I think it is? Edward. Alan Edward Grace. More PI. No way. Yeah. Nice. So, in terms of the characters, who do you fancy yourself as and who do you think everybody else is of Ocean's Eleven? Now, I'll just kick this off. Michael, you're not one of the Ocean's Eleven.

[00:47:38] You're obviously Andy Garcia. He'll take that as well. Yeah, okay. I'll take that. He wants to be gloony but he'll take that. I'll take that. I've never been so sure about it. Yeah, yeah. That's fair. That's fair to me. I can see you tightly controlling the pits. And... I can't even control my own pits. You do it so well. I think Gracie, I think Gracie's probably Scott Cahn. I'd like that. I was gonna say, Gracie is obviously one of the... One of the... The knockabout brothers. The Loy brothers. Yeah, I'd take that.

[00:48:08] Yeah. Hugh, you're obviously... Linus Calder. Yeah. And I'm obviously... Oh no. Am I not the other nerd? Oh, the computer guy. Oh. The computer guy, yeah. Nah. No, you're more Linus and I am 100%... Bernie Mac. No. No. No, the old guy. The old guy. I'm a 100% ribbon. Well, yeah, but who's the other old guy? Well, get... No, come on. I'm flashy. I'm brash. Yeah, you are. I don't do anything for a grudge. Yeah. I'm 100%...

[00:48:37] Guys, I even have his sunglasses. You do. Can you not see me? If I had money, that is how I would spend it. I would have a... Settling scores. It would be... Yeah. I would... I would invite you all around. I would greet you in my Versace robe. We would eat salads on the... The terrace. Yeah. Gracie, you could be... You could be bash either. Now, Gracie, I want to be fair to you. You could be cleaning your pit now. Ah, no, no, no. You know? They're... Nah, don't do that. That's ridiculous, Onya. I think, no, Onya, like, I think...

[00:49:07] I think, like, maybe Gracie and I could be, like... Well, not for me to say. The Clooney and Pitt ugly stand-ins, you know? Yeah, we could do the blocking. Yeah, we could do the blocking. Yeah, that'd be awesome. And, like, people would be like, Oh, those guys actually are kind of... Yeah. They're kind of good witty banters. They shoot the ship pretty good. And then they're like, oh, no, yeah, well... You know the... Yeah. Michael, you 100% think, though, that you're Danny Ocean, though, right? I do. I do. When... You know there's a scene where... I think it's when he meets the Matt Damon character.

[00:49:34] He slips a business card that just has his name on it. Is his name Linus Caldwell? Linus Caldwell. Yeah. He just slips the business card that just says Daniel Ocean on it, and then he's written something about the bar or whatever. He's written, Nice Lift, Emmett's Pub. Yes, yes, it is. Well done. Is that how you ask people out, Michael? Great trivia. I'd love to have that. A little embossed card with my name on it. Yeah, yeah, fantastic. Yeah. Then people would know you had a job, Michael. Yeah, that's true.

[00:50:04] Yeah, it could just be for personal use. Although that sounds weird. Yeah, it does. One thing I will say is I... I mean, look, if anyone wants to hear my views on Clooney, go back and listen to the George Clooney episode. I got a lot of air time on that one. I don't think Clooney has ever been better in a film. This film was made for him in a very real way. He's phenomenal. Is there a cooler scene than when he gets out of prison at the start and he has to come out with what he wore in and it's a tux and a wedding ring? Yeah. Like, that's cool, right? Yeah, very cool.

[00:50:34] No, look, that's the whole movie is cool over quality and it works. Yeah. Like, there's so many bad... Like, George Clooney is not a good heist man in this movie. He is bad at his job. But it works. Like, put it... The first scene when he's trying to get bail, or he's trying to get parole, because he is so wedded to the idea of being cool, he's acting against his own interests the whole time. Every time they ask him a question, he gives a smart answer. The parole board are terrible at their fucking job.

[00:51:02] At one point, they literally ask him like, well, if we let you out, will you commit another crime? And instead of saying no, he just smirks at the camera. And we know right then, oh, this guy is going to commit a crime. The fix is in. It's hard game is a fuck. But, you know, so a good heist man there would play along, because he's like, well, I've got to get out and do this heist. I am going to act as though I am contrite. But no. But Clooney can't act. He's too cool. Clooney's a terrible actor, but he's amazing. And Michael, I agree. He's a star. I think I said on the Clooney episode,

[00:51:32] this film is a long Nespresso ad. Yeah. And it's fucking brilliant for us. And he's perfect in that. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think we're given enough love to Bernie Mac. Love him. Yeah, he's phenomenal. Incredible in it. Yeah. He's so good at it. I don't think, who do you think is the biggest dead weight on the, of the Ocean's Eleven? Who would you happily? Do you mean in terms of performing the heist or in the film? In the film. Like who, like, to be honest, I could do without Matt Damon.

[00:52:00] I was going to say, I was going to say, yeah. In the later films, in the second film, he very much kind of comes into his own. He's very good in that. But the first one, yeah, you could do without him. Yeah. He's just a worse Clooney and Pitt. Like, okay, he's a pickpocket as well. But like, I don't need the quiet introspection of this moody guy. I just want fun characters. You know? That was your Tinder profile. The quiet introspection of a moody guy.

[00:52:27] Can I even remember the name of Saul's alter ego or alias? Lyman Zerga. Yeah. Zegna? Zerga? Zerga, yeah, isn't it? Yeah, he's great. He's great. See, that's another reason I couldn't be Saul. I'd never pull that off. I'd never managed to... No, you'd give a different name. He doesn't pull it off very well either. Yeah. Yeah, but at least Andy Gers... Or not Andy Gers... Elliot Gould is not really involved in the heist. Do you know what I mean? He bankrolls it, but he knows when... Yeah.

[00:52:55] He can't be there because that'd blow the cover, as you would. You would blow the cover on a heist, don't you? You'd be having too good of a time. Yeah. I'd love it. I'd love the teamwork. I'd love the camaraderie. I'd love the meals. Yeah. Definitely, I can see... Is it Gracie's... Is it Scott Cahn who lets the balloons up? Or is that Casey Affleck to the camera? That's Casey Affleck, isn't it? Scott Cahn bumps into him. That's a real Will move, actually. To be honest, that's a real Will move. Will would do that. Will would love that. And Will would want to anything violent, so we'd have to...

[00:53:25] Oh, you can carry the balloons. Yeah. And you can give some of your money to charity and you're happy. Oh my God. He'd be a nightmare. He'd give it to charity. He'd give it to the Labour Party. Much worse. Definitely. He'd go state's witness or something as well, honestly. Like he'd be such a grass. He couldn't be trusted. And you know how that movie ends? We have to shoot him in the desert. And that's not a funny movie. No, we send Gracie to the island. I'll do it. Yeah. Yeah. Gracie, Gracie, you would. You wouldn't care. He'd be like, I know we're brothers, but... Putting a bullet in the back of his smug head?

[00:53:55] Absolutely. Guys, we talked about the... Sorry, one more character is Julia Roberts. And actually, if I could point to a flaw in the film, I feel like she's underused. Julia Roberts is phenomenal. It's not a good role. I mean, it's not a great role. It's not a great role. It's not a good role. She's given a terrible part. She's a good actor, but... I don't think she really like pops in the role either because... It's just such a two-dimensional... She's got nothing to do. She's a girlfriend. She's got nothing to do.

[00:54:23] And I think the movie would have been better if there was no... They'd remove the romance element from it. It doesn't drive the story along. I don't care about it. The real romance is Clooney and Pitt. Disagree strongly. I... Really? Yeah. I mean, it is the reason he's doing it. Yeah. She's... She's the perfect early 2000s MacGuffin girlfriend. She's no agency. She's just there as a prize between the two warring leading men. It's perfect.

[00:54:52] Like I say, there's so many things bad about this movie that should be criticized. But for some reason, it's just cool. I know. But I just don't believe that she would be interested in Andy Garcia. Do you know what I mean? She was hurt before. He's got a lot of art, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Well, he doesn't make me cry. Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, but she makes total sense. Like look at something like Michael Collins. Like she was definitely rolled out for like about 10 years there.

[00:55:20] If you wanted like a star studded film. Yeah. She was gonna be your... Like she's a real leading lead. Oh yeah, no. They give her a fuck all to do in this. Yeah, no, it's outrageous. What do you guys think on that note? Have you seen the Oceans 8? The 2018 remake. I did. I did. Heard bad things. Yeah. I enjoyed it. I saw it in the cinema. I can't really remember that much of it, but I remember enjoying it. And the cast were excellent. You enjoyed Oceans 12. Yeah. I mean, I didn't want to get into it, but I...

[00:55:50] So, Oceans 11 is the best of all these films, right? Obviously. Oceans 12, I... It's very divisive, but I love it. And the thing about it is... It's not divisive, Michael, at all. Everyone agrees it's terrible. It's got sort of a cult following. Michael, have you seen What We Do in the Shadows? No. Everyone keeps... Has anyone seen that? No, I believe that's great. It's about vampires who live in Long Island, and they go to one of their neighbours' houses. He's obsessed with Oceans 12, yeah.

[00:56:17] Yeah, and he is obsessed with Oceans 12, and he has another group of Oceans 12 memorabilia. I mean, that's who you're the weird neighbour in the show about vampires on Long Island. What I'd say is... So, Oceans 11, they had magic, right? They had this, you know, great sort of concept. It's a very cleverly made film, and it's very cool. In Oceans 12, they just turned the cool dial up too much, right? They forgot about having to make any sense, or any sort of satisfactory plot whatsoever.

[00:56:45] And then I kind of think in Oceans 13, it swung the other way. Because Oceans 13 is the start of, like, sort of a Fast and Furious-esque situation, whereby, like, the first couple of Fast and Furious films were about car chases, and to an extent, certain characters. And then they just became ridiculous comic book movies. And Oceans 13 is kind of like that. Like, they make an earthquake at one point. Well, Oceans 13, it's just the same as Oceans 11, but not as good. It's silly, it's silly. It's a bit silly, you know? Whereas Oceans 12 is different and bad. Yeah, it's Lisa... Even the way Oceans 11 was made, like, there's some...

[00:57:15] Like, even the filmmaking is quite cool. Like, you know the bit where Ruben is talking about the only three times people have nearly gotten away with stealing from a casino? 100%. Yeah, and they play, like, there's music, there's, like, the different music. So there's Berlin, Take My Brand Over the 8th, the one from 1987. There's, I can't remember what's over the middle one, but it's a hippie. And then, Michael, what's the first... I can't remember where it is. Yeah, yeah, but there's basically three different decades, right? Yeah, yeah. But, like, it's done really quickly, but, like, it does...

[00:57:41] But, see, a lot of those things have become really cheesy and overused, like, the freeze frames and the... Like, but that all seemed very exciting and new in 2001. It is beautifully shot and edited. It's amazing. Another thing I wanted to ask you guys... So, this came out, I had to go back and look. I was like, was this pre or post 9-11? I came out in December. No, like... That's what I had to ask myself. That was such a weird... What? That's just what you had to ask yourself. Well, I just was like...

[00:58:09] I was trying to contextualise it in, like, when had I gone to see it? Like, what was going on in the world, you know? And, I mean, it must have just been... No, I'm not gonna say it. I'm sure it wasn't the perfect ad to do to 9-11. No, I don't think it was, Anya. No, but it was... It was such a fun movie. I just... I don't really remember going to see it. Look, we'll just cut that. It made America forget. Anya, I'm so glad you picked that scene.

[00:58:37] That's one of my favourite scenes, the montage of the Vegas robberies. Any other great scenes that you guys like? Well, I have two more that I, once again, I like because... They're pointless. They make no sense towards the goals they're trying to achieve. And they actively work against what they're trying to achieve. So there's one scene, and it's very short, where Bernie Mac is trying to buy two vans for the heist. Oh, yeah. And when you're... It's amazing.

[00:59:04] I'm not a massively experienced heist man, but I'm a somewhat experienced heist man. The last thing you want to be doing is drawing attention to yourself. They are being bankrolled by a millionaire, and he assaults a guy to get about two grand off a deal for vans that are going to be used in the biggest heist in Vegas history in about a week's time. Yeah. He's made himself completely memorable to save some money that's not even his. A complete ego. And Bernie Mac is fucking fantastic in the scene throughout. Yeah.

[00:59:34] So it's just once again, it's cool over substance. It was a chance for Bernie Mac to flex some chops and get some laughs. And then the other one, which made absolutely no sense. And once again, actively against their interests. Danny Ocean and Brad Pitt's character, they're talking about needing a munitions expert or whatever. And they're going through all the people who aren't available because they're either dead or in jail or whatever. And then they come on to bash.

[01:00:03] And Danny Ocean says, oh, great. And he and Rusty says something like, oh, availability might be an issue. And then we cut to bash on a heist. Yeah. Yeah. That goes wrong. And he gets arrested. Yeah. So if Rusty knew that heist was going to go wrong and get arrested, surely the easier thing to do would have been to just poach him or let him know that things are going to go wrong rather than say, well, it might be difficult because he's going to be in jail. If I let him go through with his heist later on, it's going to go wrong and he's getting arrested.

[01:00:31] And I don't manage to bluff a cop into just handing over a suspect while I blow up two police cars. But once again, it works. It works. We're all in on the ride. Alan, that particular scene where they break Basher loose is amazing because Pitt comes in and pretends to be some kind of fed or whatever, slams up against a cop car.

[01:00:56] And then the actual police officer comes up and Pitt turns to him with all the confidence of the world and says, go find Greg. Just tell him I want to talk to him. And the cop says, what? What do you mean? He says, just find him, will you? And the guy just walks off. It's amazing. Don't think I didn't watch this movie today on my phone because I didn't get around to watching it over the weekend. So I've watched this phone on a dart on my lunch break. People must think I'm fucking mental. Can you imagine seeing someone watching Oceans 11 at seven o'clock on the dart on their way into it?

[01:01:25] And he's like, what? Like what burning desire did he have to see? Like I've got to watch Oceans 11 today to get me through it. But also, whoever was sitting beside me on the bus had to see me trying to find it on various streams. I was like, Google, I tried to find it on Netflix, not there. Are you looking for it? And again, be like other high smoothies. I was like, no. So I searched and then I was like, I rented for nine euros on YouTube. And then I was like, no, it's on Amazon. So the person beside me got to see this woman who I have to watch, Oceans 11. Okay? All right.

[01:01:52] Imagine the woman beside me on the dart every morning who sees me watching Oceans 12 over and over again. I mean, she's got lucky there with your search history. Can I give a really sappy answer to this? The Fountains at the Bellagio is like, I think it's such an iconic movie scene. And it's just, and the characters peel away. Yeah. And it's the perfect scene. Yeah. It's very satisfying. Yeah, absolutely. It's very Vegas as well. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:02:21] But also, like, I know Michael, you and I always say this, but you know, God, what a time when men were men and movies had resonated. Yeah. Does it not make you a bit sad that they're not all going out together on you? That does make me sad. I did think that did make me a bit sad. You know? Also, it does make me sad that there's no women in it. And I do wonder, did this damage my brain as a team to only see men get to do cool things? Yes. So you're saying that if they cast more women in this, you could be an international heist doer. No, but you don't know how frustrating it is, right?

[01:02:50] So like, I look at that and I think, oh, I identify so strongly with Elliot Gould or whatever. But like, there's never been a female character like that in movie history. There is no female equivalent to Danny Ocean. No. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And like, that really annoys me when people say, well, why did they remake it with a female cast? Like, why not just make a new movie? It's like, because the pendulum is so swung the other way that like, you have to just kind of do these wholesale recasting of them to like, I don't know. It's just very frustrating. It's very frustrating.

[01:03:20] Anya, can I ask you a favor? Yeah. If you ever do find a female equivalent of Danny Ocean, will you tell me first? So you can, she can find out if she has a brother. Michael, yeah, why do you want a female equivalent? What's wrong with the male equivalent, male version of Danny Ocean? Yeah, well. And sorry, to be clear, I'm not saying that there are no clever charming women. Michael, sexuality is a spectrum. Like, why do you have to be like, oh, I don't want a George Clooney.

[01:03:43] There is no way Michael would greet a charming woman like Danny Ocean with anything other than resentment and anger. But the, I'm not saying there's no charming women in cinema or whatever, but there's, I find it very hard to think of one where her major character still isn't being incredibly beautiful. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you know what I mean? Like, it's just, it's like, whereas Danny Ocean, yeah, sure, it's George Clooney, but you know, his, I don't know.

[01:04:13] I'm not explaining myself very well, but it's just, I would love to see. Well, representation matters. Let Michael explain your point for you. That'd be better maybe. Yeah. If you could see it, you could be it. Exactly. Maybe that could have been Elliot Gould. Do you know what I mean? I like that. I see that and I'm like, oh my God, these men are having so much fun together. And you just don't get to see women. No. You know, I just, it really, it really annoys me. It makes me very sad. If you, Anya, I can recommend like, there are places if you want to see women having fun together where you can go and watch that, you know?

[01:04:42] Like, and yeah, it could be what you need. I don't think it's funny to sexualize a very valid concern here. Yeah. If you can't see it, you can't be it. Michael, can I just ask? Yeah. So obviously you talked about being hunted by Gracie. Yeah. If you were being hunted by like a beautiful female Gracie, would that be the ultimate fantasy? Some kind of Amazon. Yeah. Perhaps.

[01:05:11] I like, I like the idea that as a woman I'd be an Amazon and as a man I'm five eight. Oh, this, this towering beast of a woman. No, I think you're right, Anya. Because yeah, even, even the great, the great female characters in movies, and there are more of them now than there used to be. It's still a, I don't know whether, yeah, maybe, maybe no one has quite got that exact vibe, you know, of that. But just, well, I must try share it.

[01:05:39] Like there's this great online essay that I read once about like how the kind of woman that they do is usually like getting off a motorbike and flicking her hair. And like, it's all always a little bit too effective. And it's just very hard to get well written women that are sort of a man's fantasy of powerful charming woman. When you do like that's, I know lots of very funny charming women. And I don't often see them very well on screen. They seem to have got it like with comedy, they seem to have redress the balance a little bit.

[01:06:09] But like with action and stuff like that are like, as you say, kind of caper, caper movies. They certainly haven't. Well, it's just always a bit too effective and like, oh, we get it. She's in an Armani tuxedo jacket with no brown under it, having a cigarette. Like that's not a personality. Michael, cool down a second there. What film is that? Yeah, I mean, this sounds awesome. Yeah, it's just, yeah, it's just, I would love to see somebody have a, no, I haven't seen the new, the, the, but I, yeah. The new oceans. Yeah. The people I saw coming out of it when I was protesting looked fucking livid. So I don't think it was great.

[01:06:41] But you're right, Gracie, with comedy they have definitely. They've gotten more writers and stuff like, or they've gotten more people on like the behind the scenes part of it so that they're writing the good parts for themselves kind of thing. But they've had to do that. They've had to kind of go and create the market rather than someone actually writing a character for them. Yeah. Yeah. And then if you still, if you look at all the, like the Marvel stuff, like you still end up with like superheroes in a lot of spandex. Yeah, there's a lot of shots of a lot of butts, you know? Yeah.

[01:07:09] It's just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, as a, as a consumer, it's very, it's very frustrating. But I do really wonder, like, I think it's going to be amazing for kids now that there's what they're watching is just much more balanced. But like when we were growing up, like all the cool stuff. Yeah. I totally idolized Danny Ocean. Yeah. Like, yeah, it's just, it's, it's, it's weird. You know? Do you know what I would love to do? Mm. I'd love the four of us to go to Vegas. Yeah. I thought you were going to sit and watch them. Yeah. I was like, this is going to be something cheap. No, no.

[01:07:38] But I'm just saying, ideal world, how great would it be if we could dig into the coffers and say, Gracie, pack your bags, the Glove Stream is on the runway. I would love to see my wife's face if I walked into the sitting room right now and said, podcast went pretty well. By the way, me, me and me and three people off the podcast are going to go to Vegas for five days. No, it's Monday. We'll have you back by Wednesday. Won't have a lot of money left over for a holiday this year. You'll have to do everything yourself. But, you know, content.

[01:08:08] You've also blown all the money on a private jet on you. We could just get a plane. We could get the bus. We could get that big bus you were on. Yeah. Yeah. No, no, no. I like what we'd be doing taking a like an Aer Lingus flight to Newark and then changing planes. Come on. She's looked into it. She's looked into it. I want to get on in like a, in like, you know that I've been able to wear is when he's planning and he has a cigar and he has the big burgundy jacket, kind of smoking jacket. Yeah. I want to get onto the flight that I want to fall asleep.

[01:08:36] I want to take whatever like rich people sleeping pills they take and fall asleep under like a fur, a faux fur and wake up in Vegas with you guys. We get a couple of shrimp cocktails, hit the strip. If you're drugging yourself for the whole flight, surely coach is fine. Yeah. Well, you could tell me we were on a private jet. I wouldn't know. So we get to the airport, right? We're, we're in the, do we have fast track? We fast track. We fast track. We go to the Marquette.

[01:09:06] We have a sweaty, uh, poached eggs on toast and then I take my drugs. You guys tell me we're getting on the jet. Yeah. And, uh, bing, bang, boom. Happy days. We go to, we go to, we could just go to like Kildare village. We wouldn't even have to go to Vegas. We just tell you we're in Vegas. I don't look. We could just go for a meal. I just, I don't, you know, we've got to hang out with Gracie again. You just want to hang out. Okay. I was thinking about this today, right? Honestly, what's my favorite movie? I mean, I lie. I lied on all those first dates.

[01:09:34] It's not what's a real stupid movie to say. Oh, breakfast at Tiffany's. The works of Truffaut. No, do you know what I used to say? Roman holiday. Oh, okay. That's a, that's a role play this year. You're, you're on a first date. Uh, so I'll be the guy. Realistically, Gracie, it'd be you. Yeah. How many chicken nuggets you want? So, uh, six piece. What's your favorite movie? I love, I love Roman holiday. I think I just love Rome. I think it's wonderful.

[01:10:04] And holidays. Why am I putting on my own voice? I've never seen it. What, what's it about? I don't, okay, sorry. It's making me feel. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's about a, it's about a princess who goes to Rome and, uh, sorry, sorry, I've got, sorry, I've got to take this. Just one. I didn't mean to interrupt. Just one second. Yeah. No, no, just in a date mate. It's really thick. Yeah.

[01:10:33] No, I asked her about her favorite movie. She, she's stuttering and stumbling. She's looking at me now. Yeah, no, no. Right between her teeth. Yeah. Can see it. She hasn't noticed yet. It's fucking mortifying. Look, I'll see you in the pub in 10. Okay. Wait, sorry. Sorry. Okay. Uh, so you're, you went on holiday to Rome when you were a kid. Yes. My, my, my granny's actually just, uh, fallen. I've just got to go. Okay. All right. Are you sticking me with the bill?

[01:11:03] Oh no, no, I'll get you back. I'll get you back. I'll text you about it. Yeah. Yeah. Don't worry about it. Um, they know me here. They, they'll find it. Hey, look, bye. That was, um, like, you know, the hunt thing hunted on an island. That was kind of like the zoom. Yeah. Um, what, like your first date, your Shawshank Redemptions, right? Shit movie. Wouldn't work with. Michael, what's your fake date favorite movie? The dates not.

[01:11:31] I mean, I've never, uh, I've never, uh, I probably say like La Dolce Vita or something. It would be exactly of that mold. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What's your fake date movie? Gandhi. La Vita Bella. What? Gandhi. No, no, no. I think. Yeah. Did you say Gandhi? He did say Gandhi. Yeah. You know, that's kind of the vibe I'm looking for.

[01:12:01] Long, slow, tragic. Yeah. Passive resistance. I don't think I'd have to lie about saying back to the future. That's a good answer. That'd work. Yeah. But it depends. Gracie, what's yours? What's your pretend love favorite movie? I probably would have said something like, once again, yeah. Like you, something that they're probably haven't seen. No, see, I wouldn't know. I wouldn't be able to follow it up. So maybe something like cool hand Luke or something like that. Or somebody up there likes me, which makes you seem, and they're not going to have

[01:12:30] any follow up questions. Yeah. Yeah. But all honesty, the movie that I would happily watch anytime, any place as we discovered on the bus today is Ocean's Eleven. Yeah. My favorite movie. Yeah. Yeah. You know, mark the day, mark the. And what if a guy in response said his favorite movie was Ocean's Twelve? How are you reacting to that? Panic button. Yeah. See, I think maybe I would judge somebody if they told me their favorite movie was Ocean's Eleven. Do you know what I mean?

[01:12:59] Guys, can I ask you a question? If we were assembling a heist crew, who would do what? What? And it doesn't have to be limited to roles in the film. What are we all doing? I think my only skill in this would be kind of talking my way into places or, you know, Okay. Kind of bluffing things. I'm not going to be, I'm not good with detail. I'm not good with plans. I would get bored very quickly and maybe leave you all hanging.

[01:13:26] Like you could all very well end up in jail if I got distracted or if I just felt a little bit tired. You could, you could drive us. Yeah. You're very generous. He'd leave us on the keys though. He wouldn't leave us anywhere near where we were meant to be. I believe. No, but he could, you could pick us up. You're, you're, you're, I think you'd be good at like keeping everybody, you know, fueled up. Getting, getting food. So I'll be the runner. Yeah. I'll be the runner. Okay. Okay. The talkative runner. Yeah.

[01:13:56] Every, every ice crew needs one as we, what? As we aim to penetrate Bussaris. Is that our plan? Jesus Christ, didn't enjoy you saying that. Michael, what do you think? Michael's role. I'm the, I'm the, yeah. You're a good strategist. You are a good strategist. So I think you would do a lot of the fine detail planning. Okay. I'd be the strategist. It's boring. It's boring. But it has to be done. Someone has to do it. I'd be the strategist. I'd have a, I'd have a Google doc set up for ice. Heist planner. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hugh, Hugh.

[01:14:25] Honeypot. You'd be good at like the. Absolutely. Yeah. Any maths. You could count the money. I am very good at talking my way into places. No, Anya, you're our grease man. You're our grease man. What's a grease man? You're the, you're the, you're the, the, the, the one who's going to be stuck in the box. Who has to jump out and flip over things and stuff. You're our grease man. Oh, that, I, I, I, that, that horrifies me. What if somebody rolled a suitcase over my roof? That's true. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I want to be, I either want to be, oh, oh, oh.

[01:14:55] Could I be in like the surveillance van? No, Anya. I mean, I think you're the, you're the distraction we put like at one of the high roller tables to occupy a lot of people's. Oh, have they? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like one of the great, you're drawing, you're drawing a lot of eyes on you. Yeah. Oh yeah. I think I, but I, but I, I am going at, at, at, at, at confidently getting in places. Yeah. Okay. So we've got, we've got Hugh and I are planning and counting things and the two of you are just getting in places and making scenes. Yeah. Okay. Great.

[01:15:24] Now, if we could bring back one guest who's been on the podcast before, who's completing the, this, um, this, this. I mean, Emile looks like Danny Ocean. Yeah. Emile makes you very pink around the edges, doesn't he? Right. Rightly so. Yeah. He's a very good looking man. Em, who else would be good? I mean, on a similar note, Stuart Wellington, we just bring back all our hottest guests. Em.

[01:15:55] Em. Em. Conor McReynolds, he'd be very charming. We've got a lot of charm already guys here. We need some complimentary skill sets. Amina, Amina, Amina Hamad's a theatre producer. I'd say she'd be good at kind of the organizational side of things. Yes. We've, no, we've too many organizers and charmers. That's true. That's true. No, we need a doer. Like who's going to get in there and just get some fun? Funnily enough on you. None of the people we invite on our comedy podcast are doers.

[01:16:23] We've a lot of charming vapid friends. Okay. Yeah. It's, it's. We have a great time though. Yeah. It's funny that we've thought about this for so long and no one has mentioned Will. Like. Our absent co-host. Will, listen, I don't care where the heist is. I don't care what the heist is. Will is just releasing balloons somewhere. That's his job. Mags. Mags is a doer. Mags is a doer. And a pathologist. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:16:51] So look, it's, yeah, I don't, um. I don't see us pulling it off. No. We're struggling. We're missing a few key. We would have an amazing time. Who's our explosives expert? Will. Will. Will. Yeah. Yeah. There's a joke in there. Yeah. He'd make it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's not here to, with his, his. Poopy, poopy pants jokes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You miss it though. He does bring a sort of a balloon releasing energy.

[01:17:21] Speaking of. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Explosives. Like, are we, are we, uh, I mean, I honestly could talk about oceans 11. We haven't said anything bad about, Oh, it's sexist and racist. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We excuse that though. Let's be clear. Because it doesn't look cool way. It's bad, but it works. Yeah. Yeah. Guys, are we getting the final judgments? Final judgments. Okay. Right. It's a legitimate. Like definitely. It's just, yeah, it's, it's a, it's a out and out romp. It's good fun.

[01:17:51] You can just watch it. You know, you're going to have a good time. I mean, what more is there to say? Gracie. No, we, we didn't bury the lead on this one at all. It's, it's just a, like you say, it's just a good time. It's so stupid in so many places. There's so many plot holes. It's, it's all just affectations of being cool. And for some reason, it just really, really works as Michael has loves to say about a movie as though it's the only thing you can accomplish. It just moves along so fast. Like it is just. It whips along.

[01:18:22] Yeah. Yeah. You don't, you don't have time to think about why the last bit didn't make sense. Uh, I'm not sure if anyone, anyone here could succinctly explain how the heist actually worked, the mechanisms of it. Uh, but you know, by that stage, you're looking at the fountain. They're all walking over the sunset, you know, who cares? Yeah. Something about fake CCTV. Yeah. Whatever. Yeah. I do like building their own version of the vault. I do like that. That's cool. That's very, that's what you could do. Yeah. Actually that I would be good at that. Yeah.

[01:18:51] Recreating the vault. Yeah. Yeah. And keep you quiet. Yeah. And I could, you see, and I could listen to my podcasts while I was doing it, you know, specifically your podcast as well. Yeah. But I'd be listening to the edit, which podcast that'll teach you. Yeah. It's a great podcast. Yeah. I agree. Big fan. Subscriber. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks very much. Guys, we're all standing facing the big fountain here. It's time for us to step away one by one silently. So yeah, I'm going to head off.

[01:19:22] A bit of Debussy in the background. Yeah. Is that how you pronounce that? What would you say? Yeah. I mean, it's probably not quite as Irish as Debussy. It's like Debussy. You have no idea. It's great. It's great. Lovely little bit of impressionist music, you know, turn of the 1920th century. Yeah. Phantasy. You're doing it with Michael now. Yeah. I am, except I'm not reading it.

[01:19:51] Hugh, do you want to, do you want to, um, take us home? Drop kick us into the fountain. Yeah. Is that how you'd like that movie to end? Would you prefer it on you if they'd all dived in? That would have been great. I would have liked for them to have said, I'll see you. I'll see you guys at Chili's in half an hour. You know what I mean? Yeah. We're going to rendezvous somewhere else. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:20:16] As I've said, throughout, always, always, always available. Yeah. Listeners, you'll hear them again soon, I've no doubt. Anya, Michael, thank you for producing. Thank you. Thanks, Hugh. Thank you for listening to Legitimate Likes. We hope you enjoyed it. Please go back and listen to some of our other episodes as well. We do have a Clooney episode. We have lots of other episodes about movies as well, all sorts of pop culture, lifestyle, all sorts of things, like 130 something episodes by this point. So, you know, you go and find what you want to listen to.

[01:20:47] Please, please remember to follow, subscribe, rate, review. Please, please, please do all the things that podcasts ask you to do. You can also listen to my teaching podcast that'll teach you a lighthearted look at life in the classroom. And one thing that would be very useful for us listeners is if you could leave us a review. I'll be happy about one in a while on Apple Podcasts or on Spotify. You can leave a rating on Spotify now. That'd be very helpful. And they are very helpful, yeah, because I can't just keep reading Jeremy's review that he put on Apple Podcasts. I don't think you can leave reviews on Spotify.

[01:21:16] I think you can just rate them. Nothing is as exciting to me as when we get a review from like somebody I don't know who they are. Oh, yeah. Like, oh my God. Yeah. You know, good for you. But do get in touch with us on our Instagram and Twitter at Legitimate Likes. And we will see you next time. Bye. Bye. Bye.
