[00:00:00] Hi everyone, Elsie here. Once again I'm coming to you from a phone recording

[00:00:05] before the proper episode. So this week we are releasing something that was

[00:00:11] originally supposed to be a bonus episode for our subscribers. So this was

[00:00:16] filmed alongside our Tots TV episode which took place in the studio. So this

[00:00:23] is something that is also going to be in real time. So that's something for you to look forward to. We also make some very inaccurate predictions about the Christmas episode of Ghost, so watch out for that.

[00:01:40] Now this bit is very makes it so worth it. And we really are so grateful. So thank you so something entirely different, and I'm not going to give anything away about that. But all I'm saying is big things are coming, we're very excited, and can. That's actually quite nice. Yep. Still don't want it. I think you'd like it. I don't want it. OK, fair enough, because it's not too good. I've only recently started coming around to cranberry juice, because I used to really dislike that, but I really don't like vodka. It's a very weak cranberry juice.

[00:05:41] You can't taste the vodka.

[00:05:42] This is very, very weak.

[00:05:43] Meg's drinking a bloody Mary, and it's

[00:05:45] got a sort of b Simon Farnaby character with his male wife and they're reading a book that is-

[00:07:02] Does the real wife just been husband too quickly?

[00:07:05] No, male wife.

[00:07:06] They're reading a book that's entitled The Art of Love He's fine. No, he is. Yeah, he's fine, but he's just fine. You see this is we're talking sexiest man This is the exact conversation I had with my aunt when I was maybe 10 years old. So in chat about About Patrick Dempsey a chance to come out and I was like as a child I was like, he's not all that and my aunt looked at me and he was like, yeah, he is

[00:08:20] Okay, Meg told me you don't get the Pedro Pascal. Yeah. Yeah, she sent me a tweet the other day

[00:08:26] She was like I get these a nice man,, was Nathan Bryan's podcast about ghosts. And it had Ben Wilbond on it. And they were talking like, oh, how does it feel to be leaving the captain? Bill Wilbond was like, well, I'm really happy to announce that I have been cast as the Batman. And I was like, God damn it, that would be so good. That would be so much fun.

[00:09:41] More Adam West style, but that would be so much fun.

[00:09:43] Oh my God, imagine if Ben Wilbond did a sort of

[00:09:46] Adam Westly kind of. She plays villains so well. Martha's Catwoman. What? The girl, one is the girl, one. The girl, one is the girl. She could be Barbara Gordon. Or the Batgirl. There is a Batgirl in series three. I know. Okay, dream casting of a new Batman. Done. Let's email them. The Horrible Histories crowd exclusively.

[00:11:02] Which of the five men do you think should have won,

[00:11:06] well, Sexiest Man, 2023? They could, any of those men, pick me up and throw me across the room. You just want to feel light and small don't you? You want to feel like a tiny little woman. Yes, I mean we've discussed this because 100% because I'm usually, I am the dad in this household. I was usually the strongest of my friends, all these kinds of things and it's like yes of course I would.

[00:12:20] Yeah, I like her. Yeah, there's like a photo of her, she's got like a burn on her chin. It's cause it's like boiling hot stuff in this.

[00:13:41] Wow.

[00:13:42] Danger.

[00:13:43] Anyway, what were we talking about?

[00:13:46] Previously, oh yeah.

[00:13:47] Sexy man.

[00:13:47] Sexy man. I would love to meet any of them. However, I do think that Jim Howick is exceptional. I think the best face actor is actually Martha. Yeah. Just because permanent face acting goes,

[00:15:01] she cannot relax at any point.

[00:15:04] She must have really developed facial muscles.

[00:15:07] Muscles.

[00:15:08] Muscles. scripting together. No, they all auditioned for Horrible Histories and they didn't, they'd never worked with each other before that. I thought they were. And they were all cast in Horrible Histories and then they became friends through it. Yeah but I feel like that's more organic because they weren't like we're trying to make a comedy troupe. Well. No. No, yeah, you're missing one. It's five, right? No. No, Mary gets sucked off in season four. No. And the one we've just watched is series five.

[00:17:40] Series five?

[00:17:41] There's five?

[00:17:42] Yeah.

[00:17:43] Yeah, that's what I thought, yeah.

[00:17:43] Oh, which one's Thomas Dona Fair?

[00:17:45] And then is it two or is it three?

[00:17:46] I think it's two.

[00:17:48] Three is... He's always the one that gets the most prosthetic up. Like that man has probably sat for longest in makeup out of all of them. I bet he's up for anything. He looks like someone who's up for anything. I'll do that into the camera. When we were talking about, when we were doing the Horrible Histories episode months ago, you said that about Laurie Lewin.

[00:19:02] I think Laurie Lewin would be up for anything.

[00:19:05] Yeah.

[00:19:06] He's in Horrible Histories.

[00:19:08] In Horrible Histories. They weren't going to give up the house in a Christmas episode, but they have to stay in the house in order for there to be a Christmas episode. The thing is, I knew they would never because in season one they so perfectly did why they can't move because there's problems anywhere they live, ghost problems anywhere they live. So I knew that like it was a redundant plot to bring back to me.

[00:20:23] Like I understood it because they got a lot of a boring plot line. When your episode's only like 23 minutes long, you don't know waste that time with Conston explaining how you can afford to live there or the fact that you haven't got any money. Like it's one of those things that just isn't interesting even though it's realistic.

[00:21:42] It's why we don't show people go into the toilet.

[00:21:44] It's why we don't show people having money problems

[00:21:46] because there's only so far that can drive a plot was have footage of him on bullseye in the the 70s or 80s um like just i the ideas could go and go and go and like because we're in britain like they want to have like an arc a story it is self contained it goes within sort of five six seven years with an american sitcom sometimes all you

[00:23:03] want is to drop in and join your friends and like enjoy the situations that these characters have I don't know how to explain it. It's like, there's like funny ha ha moments, but it's not a comedy. And I can take a comedy, like a sitcom having loads of episodes, but when it's drama, I get very, very tired of it. That's why I think I just went out of it for it today. I don't remember how many episodes a season Scandal had, but that's the kind of show,

[00:24:20] I think it had 12 episodes a season, but it might be wrong.

[00:24:24] If you had filler on that,

[00:24:25] that would absolutely take all of the air out of the show, I don't want to watch a film. A tight 25 minutes. This is like anime. You're lucky if it's 18 minutes long. You're lucky. This is what I like about a half hour six episode series is I know everything in it is going to be good. Do you know? Nothing's going to be wasted. My favorite plot line that I think is pure

[00:25:42] what you were saying sort of like every day was the

[00:26:43] in Mary thing, the pattern cap thing. Oh, just.

[00:26:44] Didn't they say in an interview once,

[00:26:46] oh yeah, they've probably all shagged each other.

[00:26:48] Oh yeah, maybe not.

[00:26:49] I've been there for so long.

[00:26:51] I don't think necessarily Pat and Julian,

[00:26:53] everyone else though.

[00:26:55] Yeah, because they've been there for only about 30, yeah.

[00:27:00] Oh, they've not shagged everyone.

[00:27:02] I thought you meant,

[00:27:04] I don't think they've shagged each other.

[00:27:05] Well, I don't think they have,

[00:27:07] but I don't think they've done the rounds brilliant that would be wonderful i've been contemplating you see when you when you start one podcast everything becomes a podcast idea and like when i got really into all right loser yeah when i got really into 1966 batman i was like this could be a podcast well you want to do the slayer podcast but for 1966 the slayer podcast i everything as a podcast. It's like if you're an academic everything becomes research. Well I do have to research it a little bit. No I mean like studies. I know. I know. For me everything's food. Everything's a sit or food. Yeah no it's a sit. I should have said a sit. Have I done that? I don't know.

[00:29:40] About yeah my boyfriend once said to me I've never met anyone so concerned about You tell it Laura. I didn't think much significance of this story until I told these two. When I was I think under eleven because we were here but you know tall enough to reach into a pot on the stove. So my because you know you're supposed to make bolognese properly. You're supposed to let it simmer for fucking ages right.

[00:31:02] So I would get like really hungry while the whole house smells like bolognese. cooking at 5.30 or whatever. So- Anyway, one time she made like burrito samosas and they were the driest thing I've ever thought. Driest thing ever. They were so dry. And the thing is we still ate them because they contained so much ingredient. But we were like, already like- Salsa. Covering them in like salsa and dip and- Well, they- They weren't nice, don't do them again.

[00:32:21] I want my-

[00:32:22] It want my recipe, no skin off my back to say that.

[00:32:25] I was like, my. So for months, however long, to breakfast. You're like a Labrador. And if I remember correctly, a lot of breakfast for me was fruit and fiber cereal. Oh my God, you are shitting. You're regular, child. No, but to this day, it's one of my fav. I'm a regular child. I'm a fruit and fiber Cheerio girl.

[00:33:40] What's your favorite cereal?

[00:33:42] Ooh, crunchy nut.

[00:33:44] Bro, crunchy nut's good as well with really cold milk.

[00:33:46] Yes. he'd be 13. And I was like, dad, why, that's not what they're called. And you're the only person that calls them that. What is that all about? And he was like, man, just do. Me and my, sorry. No, I was just gonna say, when I was a kid, instead of fruit and fiber, I had ready bread, like every morning. Yeah, I don't like ready bread, don't like the texture of it. I would rather have big oats. It's like gruel.

[00:35:00] It is like gruel.

[00:35:01] I think it's just because it was quicker.

[00:35:02] Reminds me of bread sauce.

[00:35:04] My, me and my dad once had an argument in the cupboard. We can- Look how excited she is about breakfast. You're like, you know, we're like a little kid who's going to a theme park the next day and they go to bed in their clothes. Like, I used to react like- You're so cute. I remember when I was very little, I had to develop strategies for falling asleep when I was too excited to go to sleep. Was usually around Christmas.

[00:36:21] Some other times of year as well,

[00:36:22] but I remember very much around Christmas.

[00:36:24] But I have gingerbread pancake mix in the cupboard.

[00:36:26] Oh my God.

[00:36:27] What? or for you to sort your bagels out. Well, I'm really excited about these pancakes now because basically, I mean, I go on about it. I'm not, you know, I don't have it that hard in life. I have it pretty easy, but like. You have it the hardest out of the three of us. But you know, Thursday is my one day off, so. And sometimes it's not even, like sometimes I'm still doing things.

[00:37:40] Elsie, if you really feel that way,

[00:37:42] I'll get you a chicken cottage on the way home.

[00:37:44] It's the only day she don't leave the house.

[00:37:47] Oh my God, near this studio, in London, maybe they're talking about things originating in London. Thank you. I've just noticed this last five minutes I've been stroking my head. No, I don't want to finish the thing I was saying. It's not interesting. Should we go circle back round to ghost? Maybe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's got 15 minutes. I'm very excited for the Christmas special. Yes. Was the baby born in the end?

[00:39:00] I don't actually know.

[00:39:01] No.

[00:39:02] Okay, so that would be the Christmas special.

[00:39:03] Oh, it's Jesus.

[00:39:04] Oh!

[00:39:05] Oh, of course it's the nativity. It's I'm a thought just wheezing thought Laura Megan LC. There we go. I'm a thought I'm a thought just wheezing thought I'm a Megan LC. I was singing it all day all day Let's let's take intensity that I'm gonna do the first one right? I'm a thought why you've seen it with this

[00:40:20] I'm a thought just wheezing thought Laura Megan It's like sediment. Sediment, yeah. Thanks for subscribing. Do we need to do the socials for this or not? No, because they are subscribers. Thanks mums and Emily. Doctor Emily. Doctor Emily. I've got to put some respect on her name. Full stop.

[00:41:41] This has been fun.

[00:41:44] How do we stop recording?
