Podomedy, the UK’s independent comedy podcast network, has launched Dexplorers, a kids history podcast bringing London to life for curious children and adults.
Framed as a series of immersive missions, Dexplorers takes young listeners through the hidden stories of London’s most iconic locations. Each episode blends narrative storytelling, real-world exploration and sound-led echoes from the past, creating a format that is both engaging for children and credible for parents.
This podcast features Dex as the guide, and his Junior Dexplorers representing the listener. The result is a short, repeatable, scalable format that combines education with entertainment to bring historical moments of interest to life.
“We wanted to create a fresh concept that sits between a great story and the world's best history lesson,” said Damien St John, Co-Founder and CEO of Podomedy. “Kids don’t just want facts, they want adventure and to feel like they’re part of something. London has such a rich history and is the perfect place for junior Dexplorers to start their journey. This format lets them explore, question and discover the city alongside their grownups.”
The launch of Dexplorers also signals Podomedy’s move into children’s and family audio as a commercial category, building on its track record of developing industry-recognised podcast formats.
Dexplorers is a Podomedy original production and available on all major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. It is not affiliated with any of the locations featured during the series.
