Podomedy Shows Celebrate Double Win at Women Who Podcast Awards

The inaugural Women Who Podcast Awards celebrates outstanding podcasts created and presented by women and has honoured two podcasts on the Podomedy creator network.

Limited Time Only, hosted by actors and writers Esther Stanford and Susie Riddell, took first place in the Laughter & Cheer category. The show combines candid conversation, original comedy sketches and interviews into “a pick-me-up in podcast form”.

Austen After Dark, hosted by Dr Alice Nagle, was also recognised. The literary sex-history comedy explores the intimate lives of Jane Austen’s characters, combining close reading, Georgian social history and conversations with expert and celebrity guests.

The two results mean Podomedy shows claimed both of the highest positions in the awards’ comedy category.

Damien St John, founder of Podomedy, said:

“Independent podcasts rarely have big teams or big budgets, so seeing two distinctive, creator-led shows take home trophies means a great deal. Esther, Susie and Alice have built podcasts with genuinely original voices, and we’re incredibly proud to have them as part of Podomedy.”

About the Women Who Podcast Awards

The Women Who Podcast Awards are organised by Women Who Podcast Media Group, publisher of the quarterly Women Who Podcast magazine. Founded by podcaster and editor Kathy Barron, the organisation was created to amplify independent women podcasters whose work may not have the backing of large budgets, major production companies or extensive teams.

Entries were reviewed by a six-person judging panel, with trophies awarded across categories covering comedy, storytelling, interviews, social impact, diversity and inclusion, service to others and supernatural programming.

The awards received entries from around the world with winners selected across categories including comedy, storytelling, interviews and social impact.
