The team behind Wrestling With the Champ is chuffed to bits to announce our inclusion in this year's prestigious Rik Mayall Comedy Festival programme.
Their fight-based game show FistyMania!, which blends the no-holds-barred theatricality of professional wrestling with improv comedy, has been performing on the UK festival circuit since 2022, and picked up the Best Sport trophy at the Independent Podcast Awards 2024.
"We're absolutely thrilled to bring our body-slamming humour and quick-fire banter to a festival honouring one of Britain's greatest comedy legends," says Damien St John, Co-Creator of Wrestling With the Champ. "Rik was a comedy hero of mine growing up. Fearless physical comedy and larger-than-life characters are in our show's DNA too and we can't wait to celebrate his revolutionary spirit."
This live show is likely to be the final stop before the boys open the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with PBH Free Fringe, August 2-12th.

About the Rik Mayall Comedy Festival
The Rik Mayall Comedy Festival is a new volunteer-run festival based around the Norbury Theatre in Droitwich Spa, where Rik’s parents produced plays and where Rik made his first on-stage appearances. From 31 May to 7 June 2025, the festival will feature a diverse range of performances, screenings, panel events and workshops in celebration of Rik’s remarkable life and career. These individually-ticketed curated events will underpin an open fringe festival across the town, supporting the local community and bringing new customers to local businesses. A free pop-up museum will focus on Rik’s influential body of work.
