[00:00:02] This content contains podcasts This adult This adult contains podcasts Adult content Be advised Enjoy the episode Petition for them to never remake the Koala Brothers I don't think we're in danger Yeah, I think we're alright I think we're good I think we're okay Okay

[00:00:54] Hello Hi everyone Hi Okay, let's do that again No, let's not That wasn't on purpose She's very tired, everyone We're Thots TV I'm Elsie I'm Meg I'm Laura And we're the Thots of Thots TV I don't know if that quite fulfilled the brief of sounding like you want to be here But she is here And that's what matters She'll perk up I don't not want to be here I just don't want to have had the morning I've had, that's all

[00:01:24] Well, let me tell you something that I've done this morning Oh God, Laura, this is absolutely disgusting Trick of warning, isn't it? Gross For everyone at home, this is our first dealings with Laura today And it is half past two We've not seen it Me and Elsie have been dealings for a few hours We've been dealing with each other Yeah It's not always easy, but we have been dealing with each other So God, this is grim I brushed my teeth

[00:01:51] And I was like drying my mouth with my towel And you know, all the I was rinsing my toothbrush I don't know why I'm not I think what you've set up for me is the worst of any given thing you describe You know? It's not that bad, to be honest And I was like, as I was like going through the motions of the end of brushing your teeth I was like, something's different here Something's wrong What's going on?

[00:02:21] Something feels Something feels Were you using the floor mat to wipe your face? No Oh yeah, she was on all fours Just something's not right here And as I turned to leave the bathroom I was like, I've not spat Still had a mouth Everything's still inside my mouth She really didn't dry the inside of your mouth How the fuck did I manage that? I've never done that in my entire life Because it's such a routine Like it's muscle memory So how did I not spit? Anyway It's kind of like sometimes I accidentally leave the house in my slippers

[00:02:51] Yeah, I've done that Yeah You get to the top of the stairs and you're like, this is wrong Yeah, yeah, because you don't notice until you're walking downstairs And like I've thought, it's a good job we do have to go downstairs How far would you get? Because I think I would get a lot further before I realised I was in my slippers if I didn't have to walk downstairs in them Have you ever got like halfway down the street And you've still got in your hand something that you were holding inside That you do not need to bring out with you? Yes Probably Yeah, I have

[00:03:18] I do the thing that I think it's an ADHD thing Where I just hold water in my mouth for ages What? Really? You've seen me do this That's fascinating Because you've looked at me in a bun You think it's an ADHD thing Swallow Yeah, swallow that water free Why do you do that? That's I'm sorry, I don't want to say it's strange Because of what I've done this morning You just sort of sometimes procrastinate swallowing Oh my goodness, I've never heard of this I don't know I know my brother does it as well

[00:03:49] But yeah I don't think that's an ADHD thing I think that's a Connolly thing It could be It could be I think it is But Anyway, we are the podcast that reviews Children's TV Yeah How is everyone today? It's the 1st of August On his way out the door this morning My 26-year-old grown adult male boyfriend pinch-punched me And said no returns Did he? Yeah No returns, no returns No returns I don't know

[00:04:17] I didn't expect that from a grown man Would you expect it from a grown woman? A bit more, yeah I would expect it more from you than from him I don't know why I didn't expect it from him Because it makes it It aligns with his personality But I was like We're adults It's not the playground, is it? Stop not having fun No, I've been having a great morning It's I don't know if we've ever recorded it this time Maybe once or twice we've recorded it Two in the afternoon But Yeah, I've been having a good morning yesterday

[00:04:48] Sometimes it just happens It happens I was just deeply, deeply depressed I could barely move And usually the day after that happens I'm feeling so great Like I'm in a great mood Also we're going out tonight Because we're seeing jet lag at the cinema And also kind of to combat the daytime depression It's two o'clock in the afternoon I've given Elsie a beer So Yeah It's true I'm hoping that that's going to help Yeah, when I have plans in the evening I'm always like a little bit happier Because it's like you've got to be Or you don't want to leave the house So it's nice to have a plan

[00:05:18] And when she's got a beer Yeah She's always a little bit happier Exactly She's got a beer Yeah No, Meg mentioned that we had jubels in the fridge And I was like We can't We can't It's two But we are Can I just say else Like now we're here on mic And I know you haven't done this Read the jubel can Oh, right Okay Read the jubel can Oh, it's a difficult colour I don't know if anyone listening Has ever read a jubel can But you read the back of it And you're like Oh, I'm a gentrifier

[00:05:47] Jubel was the name of a song played at the height of Apres The place we discovered beer pesh? Yeah, so Okay, peach beer Oh, right, okay Pints flowing Sun shining Music pumping Slop Slop side Send in session Okay Jubel means a feeling of extreme joy And we exist to bring this experience to everyone Do you know what Apres is else? No

[00:06:16] It's the booze up after you've skied Is it? Yeah, Apres ski Can you imagine if your job was Yeah Was the person that wrote like pithy, quippy, millennial copy for like drinks Honestly, I'd take that job I would I'd take that job too But I'd be so fucking good at that I read the back of one of these cans once And now I have to force myself not to when I have one Because it makes me feel disgusting Like Oatly

[00:06:45] Like the Oatly copy Yeah, I don't like I actually prefer the Oatly copy The Oatly copy Because it does actually make me laugh sometimes Yeah, the Oatly copy very I'm literally looking at it right now behind you It varies from like tongue-in-cheek Actually kind of funny To shut the fuck up Well, a lot of these like sort of startup drinks companies that feel like they're doing something different All their copy kind of reads as is like We're doing something different

[00:07:12] Well, no, it kind of reads as like we're a business but we feel kind of bad about being a capitalist So we're gonna do it ironically Oh, I'm so sorry for existing Oh, aren't we different? Aren't we funny? Like I would Because I like know this so well I feel like I'd be so good at that job Because I would just be a parody of the Oatly copy And I would just do it It varies between exactly that And like a reference for the whole corporate dynamic

[00:07:40] That still has a bit of that Because it's like Oh, I'm so sorry for being corporate Where it's like Oh, we don't care that we're corporate Is the other sort of mode of it Where it's like They're intentionally doing things Standard companies would never do And it's like Okay, sure I am If I I think if I started A brewery On the back of my cans I would just write I am a beer And I'd have eyes on the cans Oh

[00:08:11] Our founders are working closet Of never being skiing Everyone at some point in their life Has to say to their friends We should start a brewery And now we've got that over with We can move on and not do it Yeah Yeah Yeah I'm happy I'm happy I love the idea of the three of us Starting a brewery You there actually As fans of beer Then me just trailing behind Like Another one Another one Another one Another one Another one Another one Another one And she really doesn't like it Because Laura has been through

[00:08:41] A transformation In the last few years Where Everyone has that time In their life Where they don't like Olives or vinegary things And Laura's over that now Because you've got adult taste buds now And you still don't like beer So that means that you Definitely Definitely don't like it Yeah I don't know if you know this Elsie But when I met Laura She didn't like hummus No I do know that Yeah I do know that She didn't like the graininess Of shop bought hummus I like restaurant hummus And now she doesn't really care About the graininess Of shop bought hummus

[00:09:10] She'll eat any fucking hummus You just put a spoonful of hummus In her mouth And she'll eat that We sort of Same Like maybe Discovered Through the various things That I didn't like And now like Versions of them That you do like You have to start This is horrible I'm such a fucking No I think this is A correct way of going about things If there's something That you don't like That you want to like This is a good idea Is that you start With the nicest version Like restaurant hummus

[00:09:39] You start with the snobbiest Nicest Least readily available version And work your way down Yeah I mean About three or four weeks ago I watched Laura drink Half a can of a Radler Yeah Half a can I drank the other half But she did drink Half of the can It's the same with olives She didn't like olives And then we gave her like A real fancy The Pirello Massive Oh so good Pirello, Gordal, Picante She bought them Of her own volition And now you'll just eat Standard olives right

[00:10:08] I don't know that yet Okay We've only done One can of Pirellos It took Multiple visits To restaurants I don't want to sound wanky But the canned Pirello, Gordal, Picante olives Are like the best olives On the planet They're so unbelievable It's not the best olives It's the best food Like it is nectar of the gods It's so good Oh one of us buys a can And we just stand In the kitchen And chopsticks With chopsticks And finish the can Well there's not that many In a can Because they're huge They're so big You see the size

[00:10:37] Of some of those cans They're meaty Yeah Meaty olives Yeah I mean I've always been okay With black olives But usually they're in stuff And what did we learn When we went to Greece? That they just become Black olives Yeah All olives will become Black olives Because I learned A while ago That apparently The kind of black olives That you have on a pizza Are dyed black Because they can't Hold that structure When they're ripe enough To be black They're quite soft

[00:11:07] That's amazing Whereas like If you get a can of black They're essentially the same As the can of green olives But they're dyed Is this calamanta as well Or are they always like purple? No those will always go purple But all olives will go But the calamata olives Are quite They're the purple Yeah Quite soft ones Because when they're ripe They're soft Koala brothers We're just coming back From their daily patrol Fill her up Josie Hey To the top Frank Right to the top

[00:11:36] So we've taken our time Getting to the point Because this is a show That maybe there's not A huge amount to say about it But I do like it Oh yeah I like it I liked it We're doing Koala Brothers today It's for very young kids I feel like we've knocked off Quite a lot of stuff For very young kids This series I will say that our opinion For stuff for very young kids Only Only varies like a little bit Generally yeah Yeah We generally think it's quite good But quite boring for adults

[00:12:06] Probably because there has to be It is a bit stricter I would imagine I don't know that for sure But there's probably so many things That you can and can't do When it's for very young children However There are A few notable differences Between Koala Brothers And a lot of the Stuff for very young kids That we've done In the past So shall we learn about it? Yes please Quickly before we move on Because we're drawing to the end Of the season rapidly And next episode

[00:12:36] Is going to be Tracy Beaker So there will be No time to waste Talking about that Shall we do a little Look back On the season? Like This one has been a Sort of younger skewed one I think Yeah No I agree Shall we have a look At what we've done? Yeah Everyone get it up On their own I'm going to have to Whip this up on my phone Despite having led Like four episodes This series I know I thank you for that So what have we done? We started the series With the Herbs And The Adventures of Parsley

[00:13:05] That seems like a lifetime ago Doesn't it? Jungle Run Yes Powerpuff Girls I think probably My favourite thing We've done this series Was the Powerpuff Girls Yes My favourite TV show My favourite My favourite episode That we've done Was last one Mr. Ben I think that's It is a good episode Rosie and Jim Highly requested The Slammer Loved it The Shiny show Was on the fence about it Yeah it was fine The Out Service Loved it It's wild to me How much I just Erased my memory

[00:13:35] Of these things Because I'm like I actually cannot Remember What is in The Shiny show We watched a bunch I don't remember What it is Wow We've been like Really really busy Our lives have been So busy Like this is It's a good season It's now full Of the shop inventory It deleted the Shiny show And now I just know The differences Between our granolas Yeah Laura works At the same shop Doesn't it Yeah Yeah it's It's been a busy time And we've done So many shows

[00:14:05] That I actually Really really really like And a couple That I don't really care about That we've not really done Any that I don't like I think Yeah Love the Owl Service That one I do remember Love the Slammer of course As you know Is very close to my heart These two both Just took it upon themselves To start yelling at me She wanted to become Flowers the other day It was It was the correct reference To make it the time But it was like Weirdly overwhelming For them both To be stood there Going She wanted to be Wow No one is ever

[00:14:34] Going to get that reference If they've watched The Owl Service I mean listened To the Owl Service They will Yeah Because I think It's one of our Most interesting episodes Yeah maybe You're doing great Mitzi That's it Ned Back at the homestead Frank and Buster Were helping Mitzi and Ned Get ready for the sports day Koala Brothers ran From 2003 to 2007 And it was targeted At kids Between the ages Of two and six Which I think Of all the shows I've researched

[00:15:04] I've never had a like Specifically this is the age group That it's for Which makes kind of sense To me When you watch the show That they would need To specify But I think it kind of I don't know if either of you agree But I think it kind of Fills a bit of a gap In broadcasting For young kids A lot of the shows That we've talked about That are for that age group I think anyway Are kind of Kind of less advanced Yeah I agree

[00:15:33] Do you know what I mean? Absolutely I'm not quite sure How to word why I think it's more wordy It is more wordy And more narrative driven I'm not saying That the shows That are less wordy Are any less worthy But Nice Thanks But this I think fills a gap Because it's a lot There's a lot more It's a lot less We'll get into it more

[00:16:03] But it's a lot less Learning based Than a lot of other shows For that age group It's a lot less like ABC Kind of What's this thing? Yeah it's not a What's this thing? What's this idea? It's nothing like that It's not a shiny show It's not a bits and bobs It is still It's definitely a story With characters Yes Yeah It's still very simple And you know Clearly for very young kids But there's There's a levelling up Of you're not just Learning what a spoon And a plug is The lessons are Very clearly stated Like the

[00:16:33] Each episode tells you Exactly what you Should have learnt But That day George never felt happier He discovered That he was good At something Other than delivering The post after all That's because Everyone is good At something It can just take A little time And some help From your friends To find out What it is Yeah So there's 78 episodes Which is quite a lot For a show like this For four years That's not that much

[00:17:02] Do you think? Because it's stop motion That's why I think It's a lot Okay Yeah Fair I should have mentioned That at the top It's stop motion By the way It's got 78 episodes And a Christmas special I love it when Kids shows have A Christmas special Me too Why couldn't we have 79 episodes And a Christmas special And then we'd have 80 episodes So close It was created by David Johnson Who was also A writer on Sesame Street For four years Which is really cool Oh my god Wow And he produced A whole bunch of Cabbage Patch Kids stuff

[00:17:32] Is he American then? I think Why is it always a question I don't know the answer to? Sorry When you look Through his IMDB though That is pretty much All he's credited for Is Sesame Street Cabbage Patch Kids And all of Koala Brothers I'm no good at anything Really Except delivering the mail I'm sure we can find Something you could add George Do you think so? Why don't you come out To the homestead And we'll give you A bit of a hand Oh thanks fellas That's alright George

[00:18:02] After all We're here to help It is Apparently The inspiration To the show Was a book By Greg McKeanwell Wayne Talbot Called The Great Wungle Bungle Aerial Expedition Which is a similar concept About a group of animals In the Australian outback Who have to save the day When their friend Is swept away By a tornado Isn't that so cute? That's so cute The The like

[00:18:31] Front cover of the book Is like an airship It's really It's really cool Nice In Australia Episodes are 12 minutes long And broadcast in pairs But in the UK There is no Introductional closing song Which makes each episode 10 minutes long Which makes sense For the way we broadcast things Because I think it was on CBB Yes it was on CBBs I One thing that I'm going to say now Before I forget to say it Is that there is a lot of music Constantly in the show

[00:19:00] Is there? I hadn't noticed that There's quite a lot of music Just in the background Which Was fine Till I noticed it And then I found it annoying It's just like There was no silence And I needed a bit of silence That's getting older isn't it? It's too loud Meg will come into my room Every so often She just goes Do you ever Sit in quiet? Because I'll always be playing music Or watching something And I'm just like

[00:19:30] Yeah The older I've got The more Like The more akin I am To just sitting in silence Do you remember how Which is weird Because I cannot sleep If it's too quiet But during the day I will just sit in Do you remember how Quiet it was in that vineyard? It was so quiet Yeah we went on holiday to Greece And we went to a vineyard And it was It was So unbelievably quiet there And I was here the other day On my own And it was like A quiet moment Where no one was on the street No cars or whatever And I was like

[00:20:00] It's still not that quiet Do you think that we Are More surprised by that Because we live in Zone 2 of London And it's quite a busy area We're right near a station Like If I were to go To the countryside In the UK I actually still don't think It would be as quiet As it was in that vineyard Because we weren't That far from any roads Yeah But it was just so quiet I think it might have felt

[00:20:29] Quite surprising Because it was It was quite remote But it was also Up a mountain Yeah And The mountain was Blocking Weather and wind From one direction But Because you could see So far It kind of felt a bit weird That it was so quiet Because you could see So much of your surroundings It's like I've been in the country Not like Not that deep In the countryside In the UK But like I have And it's I swear Still not that quiet I was like Because of wildlife Yeah I was like This is crazy

[00:20:59] This is dead silent But to be fair If they didn't want the show To be really really quiet What sound effects Are they rustling up For the Outback Wiz It's a weird old show Is Koala Brothers Yeah I think it's very sweet It's a strange one So I mean This is your episode Meg So I'm not Trying to derail you But it's really bizarre That it's a British show Mm-hmm

[00:21:27] Made by someone Who from his IMDb Sounds like he spent A lot of time in America Or is American Yeah I did just try and find out And it seems like he's British Okay And it's set in Australia Yeah Was it broadcast in Australia? Yeah Yeah it was Because they were 12 minutes long But Oh yeah you did say Sorry I think the book might be Australian So Yeah I guess Makes sense So It is We said It's a stop motion It's about Twin Koala Brothers

[00:21:56] Called Frank and Buster Which is so funny to me Because you know When you know siblings And one of them Has got a perfectly normal name And one of them Is called Buster Like I would be so mad If I was Buster I'm like My parents named me Buster That is one of my favourite comedy tropes And I can own It's not really a trope Because I can name two instances But both these instances I love In The League of Gentlemen There are some twins And one's called Chloe And one's called Radcliffe

[00:22:28] And In Don't Hug Me I'm Scared There's Lily and Todney Todney Lily and Todney So the premise of the show Essentially focuses on A character per episode There's quite a lot of them We'll get onto that Who is presented At the credit sequence Who has to Overcome a problem And is helped by their friends I've written This problem is usually One of the seven deadly sins It's normally like Jealousy

[00:22:58] Or Lust Sloth Or envy It's not lust It's not jealousy Is it a seven deadly sins Yes it is It's envy Covetedness Yes okay Yes But it It is usually one of the seven deadly sins Which one Where she just Didn't know how to tie her shoes And I was trying to Because you'd already said this to me And I was trying to fit it into your Scheme And I don't know Which Who was it Was it

[00:23:28] The kangaroo Yeah so she's young So For the younger characters It's kind of like The younger They're not feeling no lust There's characters Who don't really have That many episodes That are based around them Because they're the older characters And therefore they have less problems So I think it's Is it Sammy Who owns the shop The The Armadillo Hedgehog He's an Echidna Oh Echidna Echidna There we go

[00:23:57] He's an echidna And he's like One of the older characters So he doesn't have that much stuff That surrounds him Sammy the shopkeeper Loved his job He loved the thought That whatever bits and pieces His outback friends needed They could always get them From his shop He just liked being helpful Let me read a section From Wikipedia That I thought That I thought was very funny Notably While the series Sometimes features Disagreements And displays of poor behaviour It avoids presenting Any characters

[00:24:27] As purely villainous Or unlikable Instead It emphasises The importance Of kindness And friendship It's like Yes You're all villains But you all like each other That's what I took away from that Because It's not It's always sunny Is it No There It is always sunny It is always sunny So We've got Frank Who is Keith Wickham Hi George Oh G'day there Frank Buster Are you okay George Oh

[00:24:56] Everybody's been asking me What I'll be doing For the sports day Well the answer's nothing Because I won't be there We've spoken about him A lot over the years Even this series So I'll whip I'll whip through this one He's been in 64 Zoo Lane Secret Show Mr. Men Watch My Chops Angelina Ballerina Frankincense Cat Etc Etc Etc We love him We talk about him a lot He's changed daily

[00:25:29] Frank's brother Buster Is Rob Brackshaw Who I think we have also Talked about Yes I recognise that name He's He's done He's done an awful lot Of Bob the Builder Some more recent Thomas and Friends stuff Some Sooty's Amazing Adventures Watershed Down Watership Watership Down Fuck me Wait wait wait wait Watership Down Yeah Watership Down The rabbits one Yeah That was 1979

[00:25:59] There might be a new version Yeah there must be A new version Anyway Also some Angelina Ballerina Planet Sketch Mr. Men Octonauts And He is Professor Professor In The Secret Show Oh that's why I know his name So these guys know each other Yeah Clearly And we know them And what I do know Is that neither of them Are Australian Neither of them are Australian They could have fooled me They're very good at their jobs You know There was nothing Ned the Little Wombat Like more

[00:26:28] On a hot outback day Than one of Lolly's Nice cool ice creams There you go And this day Was really Really hot Jonathan Coleman Is the narrator He is an Australian TV and radio presenter He's got the like Australian nighting Doesn't he I think so Yes But he was born in London As all the good Australians were He's done a lot of stuff But I'm only really Going to talk about His UK radio Career

[00:26:58] Because it's Most relevant to us Because this is just Shit something he's done So his UK radio career Started at BBC GLR Before moving to Virgin He was then Sacked from Virgin Radio And I was Oh Scandal What's he done This is what What happened As far as I am aware In 1998 Chris Evans And his production company Ginger Media Group I mean come on Yes I mean come on

[00:27:28] Purchased Virgin Radio UK I was aware of that Yeah Chris Evans then Sacked Jonathan Coleman Who he'd had a rivalry with And took over his breakfast slot That he That Coleman presented With his mate Russell Williams Because I think it was like I can't remember what it was called But it was like John and Russ Or something like that Sounds a bit like he needs to go To Capitalist Dungeon He does need to go To Capitalist Dungeon Oh fellas I will say And I might regret saying this You don't like Chris Evans No me neither

[00:27:57] No that's not what I was That's not what I was gonna say I think that Chris Evans When he was on Radio 2 I don't know if he still is I don't know I think he's not He's not I really enjoyed his breakfast show Because it kind of makes me nostalgic For like mornings before secondary school And You know TFI Friday Was also A really good show And I don't like saying

[00:28:26] He's very very very good at his job I don't like saying that Because there's something about him That I just don't trust And now I know why It's not unusual On a hot sunny day To see Archie the Crocodile Jogging through town Trying to keep fit But today He seemed to be training Even harder than usual So Jonathan Coleman Didn't really do anything wrong It's just He was probably a dickhead But Chris Evans Was an even bigger dickhead With even more money behind him

[00:28:55] With the power to buy This guy's The company that this guy Was working for And sack him Okay That's crazy That makes you look mental It's like you've got 24 hours Of airtime to fill Just keep him on Jesus Christ But he wanted the breakfast slot He didn't even I mean I feel like If he tried to Move Jonathan Coleman To a different slot You would just go No I'm leaving Because that's humiliating It is the most coveted slot In radio Is breakfast So You're laughing

[00:29:25] It's true No no no Fair enough Or drive time Or drive time So much stuff here Going right over my head We'd never been Like a radio family So So he then went to Heart And then he went to LBC Then he had an afternoon show On BBC London And then in 2005 He took over The breakfast show From Danny Baker Which I also remember Was that when Danny Baker Was fired in disgrace? I think so Yeah So much scandal in radio My goodness But he only did that

[00:29:54] For like a year and a half Before he moved back To Australia To be near his Elderly mum He then did loads of radio In Australia And I could go on and on But one thing I will say Is that he worked For an Australian breakfast show Called Sunrise From which he was suspended For revealing the supposed ending To Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows on air He He He was so base Before he even knew it But he Didn't Hadn't read it So He Was like Revealing An ending

[00:30:24] That he didn't know If it was right or not So he was like Suspended indefinitely But he They put it to A vote For the listeners As to whether he should Get his job back And it was like An 80-20 split And he got his job back I mean of course Because listeners Don't really give a fuck About the rules They just know Who they find entertaining Yeah I mean He hasn't read it So he was guessing All Through the grapevine Maybe someone he knew Had read it And told him That is so funny That is really funny

[00:30:53] I don't give a shit If someone spoils someone For me I really don't It's the suspension That makes me laugh Because it's like You must have known That you shouldn't Say the ending To a recently released Highly anticipated book Live on air How do you feel About spoilers generally? Okay so Spoilers will not Hinder How I enjoy something But I do Remember A few years ago

[00:31:23] Watching The Sixth Sense For the first time With my I cannot believe you managed With my boyfriend At the time And He I had Somehow Lived like 24 years of life And didn't know What the end Of The Sixth Sense was And I am So glad That I didn't know What the ending was I must be the only Person on the planet Who didn't know How it ended I have no idea Who you got Like without hearing That one genuinely

[00:31:52] I watched The Companion Last year A year before And I went into that Extremely blind Whereas Because apparently One of the trailers Kind of told you What happens Like it Tells you the reveal I went into it Without having seen Any trailers So I had no idea And that one If you knew going in That would have been weaker Like Because I was like Wait what And then it was like Oh For me it really depends Like I Don't There are some things Where I really don't mind Spoilers

[00:32:21] And it won't affect How How I enjoy it Like Some things I really enjoy Watching Twice Because like Things can be better Or like different At least On a second watch But you know Some things I would rather avoid But I'm not really bothered If something gets spoiled When it's like Fiction media I don't I'm not that bothered But with like For example I was on a flight During the England-Argentina game So I knew the score Of Atlanta

[00:32:51] And I have Obviously not bothered To watch the game I'm not as asked About watching like Live sport When I know the outcome Yeah exactly I think the frame Like how Whatever that's being spoiled If it's like A really important frame To the entire thing So Sixth Sense Companion And I would put Ghost stories in here as well Oh yeah Yeah If you told me The thing In any of those Three films And stuff like it Where it is The whole frame Of the thing Is being Once you have The thing revealed

[00:33:21] That your entire Frame of the thing Is changed If you spoiled that I think That I would care about Because it Fundamentally changes How you watch it Especially Ghost stories However We went to see Ghost stories on stage When it was touring And And we'd seen The film already We'd seen the film And I feel like Knowing what was coming Was making me more nervous Me too Like I would have loved To have seen it On stage for the first time And not know what was happening But I was

[00:33:50] I was anticipating it So hard That I was like I'm scared Yeah Because there's Stuff in The movie Ghost stories That once you know What's going on You have to watch it again You have to watch it again Because I remember I watched it with Sean After I'd seen it And I was like Oh Ah You did tell me Like It's telling you the entire film It's telling you Until you know what's happening Yeah It's beating you over the head With it Yeah You won't know what you're looking It's so rare as well

[00:34:20] That you watch a piece of media That is giving you So many clues As to what's actually happening That you don't pick up on At all While you're watching the film Oh it was It was kind of alarming I've actually got goosebumps Talking about it I love it so much There are episodes Of Inside Number 9 Like that And I've heard them Talking about like We were putting these things in Because That's what you've got to do And it makes it better To re-watch But the whole time We were just so So so nervous That it was too obvious And with every single episode

[00:34:49] It's not too obvious It would be such a gigantic leap To get there Like the vampire one Like yes Very much like the vampire one They were like Sorry this is ridiculous This is just telling too much But it isn't No yeah Like audiences are like Audiences are clever But you'd have to be A real miserable enjoyer of media To be constantly looking out for things Yeah Like I go in stupid And I hate it When people are going in Like looking for movie mistakes And things like that It's like

[00:35:18] There's a film playing Enjoy the story Yeah Like god Ignore the boom mic Who cares Who cares It's like I forget what happens in things And I've seen the mousetrap twice I think And because you're not Supposed to talk about it Or the ending By the time I saw it the second time I got halfway through the play Before I remembered what was going to happen And I was like Well that's good Because no one's discussing it

[00:35:48] So I've forgotten So I can enjoy it again I need to see it Before someone spoils it for me I was going to a few birthdays ago But the queen died So everything got cancelled Because her funeral Was on my fucking birthday It is really good though It's really really good And it's Especially in like Theatre and stuff It's nice to have a It's got the kind of thing That you would talk about If you weren't told otherwise But like What happens in ghost stories Is not

[00:36:17] Something I am ever going to tell a person No You just have to watch it You just have to watch it Because it's like So take literally I was trying to think of the Foil to this Films where I'm like Tell me what happens I don't care Any Marvel film You can just tell me what happens My enjoyment isn't going to change at all Because they never do anything With those films That is like Like ever So it's just It's been done and done and done So it's just like You can tell me exactly what's going to happen I'm either going to watch it or I'm not You telling me what's going to happen It changes nothing Yeah

[00:36:46] I feel like that most of the time Yeah I can't Like it has to be a framing thing That puts the whole film Into a different perspective Then don't tell me Yeah Everything else You can tell me It's just like general plot I'm not that bothered Yeah Like my brother told me The entire plot of the new Daredevil And I was like Yep It's kind of what I thought If I'd known the plot Of the Final Good Omens Before I'd watched it I wouldn't have watched it Maybe I would have been Less disappointed Maybe Yeah

[00:37:16] I'll save some time Don't watch it Fucking cowards Anyway So Yeah sorry And Archie realised That if you don't feel well It's important to tell somebody Once you've rested for a while You'll feel better And be up and about Stronger than ever Jonathan Coleman is unfortunately dead He died in 2021 From prostate cancer Oh dear How old was he? Great Sorry Sixties? Sixty-five maybe? Oh

[00:37:45] Okay Sixty-two I think it was Who am I looking for again? Jonathan Coleman It was early sixties Sixty-five Yes I did read it Other name Jono Of course So for the female characters We've got Lucinda Cowden Who is actually Australian He's got a funny colour Ah Morning Mitzi Looking forward to my special tennis tournament Archie Oh Frank

[00:38:15] She was Melanie Pearson In Neighbours But she hasn't done loads relevant to us She's done like A variety of acting Presenting and stand-up As well as stage work She lived in the UK for a bit Did a load of stuff here Went back to Australia And was In Neighbours again Yeah There's always Neighbours guys There's always Neighbours to fall back on And Janet James Also voices on the show Never fear Ned is here And I'm here to help Buckle up Buckled up Chucks away

[00:38:45] Chucks away Meow She's done tons of kids TV She was in Postman Pat Jungle Junction Muddle Earth Remember Muddle Earth? No I don't remember Muddle Earth She is British Fifi and the Flower Tarts The Backyardigans Water Ship Down as well Loads and loads and loads of stuff So really It's only kind of Lucinda Cowden Who hasn't done Loads of Loads and loads and loads Of kids TV voice acting Or audio It's a small pool isn't it? It is a small pool

[00:39:14] Get here on it Jump in The water's warm It's full of six people There's not an awful lot to say About production There's two production companies involved Both of which Only ever produced The Koala Brothers Really? I think one of them Is not operating anymore And one of them May not be operating anymore But did start operating Under a different name But there's

[00:39:44] In terms of Like production There's nothing else That these companies have done It's very I think they're just The companies that The creators were Operating under At the time Yeah It's giving Like animes always have Things at the end Where they're like This was made by the committee Of specifically this anime Like they create Really specific things Just to make one show And it's like Oh we just invented these To make the Koala Brothers And then we'll close shop Yeah pretty much

[00:40:23] To be fair The production companies Didn't close up shop Immediately in 2007 When it was in like 2012 Okay Oh wow okay See you later Lolly Bye Ned Hi Frank Hi Basta It's a scorcher You're right It sure is It's a bit too warm If you ask me So yeah Out of the cast We've got two Australians And the rest of them Are British men

[00:40:53] And British women Sorry Janet James is also British There's a lot A lot of characters Who do you guys remember? Yeah Apart from Frank and Buster And the narrator Okay here we go If you want names from me You're not getting them I've written them all down Laura Alongside a brief Character description Because I was getting So confused Okay fair enough There's Ned Who is like Sort of shaped like a bear But I don't think he is a bear He's a wombat Okay there you go then

[00:41:23] He's like Quite a young Coded character And he Appears to live with The Koala Brothers As an adopted son It's alright Ned We're here to help Oh hi Frank Hi Buster You're not wearing A sun hat And you don't have Any sunblock on I was just Keeping people indoors Because the harmful Rays are coming Ned When was the last time You drank some water No time for water Too busy

[00:41:52] Is it the one That lives outside He lives in the caravan The caravan Yeah The caravan There is Mitzi Who is A possum Yes There And she's also like Ned's age She's quite young There's a duck Called Can't remember the duck's name There's a tortoise That delivers the post He's a postman He's a turtle And what's he called? George George

[00:42:22] There's the shopkeeper Who is voiced By the same person As George And they have Exactly the same voice Yeah we noticed this I can't remember If they're actually Voiced by the same person They must be Because they just Sound the same There Ready for business Morning Sammy Oh Hello there George Anything I can get you This morning Not right now Thanks Sammy I'm just going to Sort the post And then Oh

[00:42:52] George Are you alright? Oh sure Sammy Right okay But there is a lot of I feel like A lot of the characters In this show Do just sound the same There's a crocodile Or an alligator Hello Miss Lolly Won't you give us A tiny clue What show you're doing? Sorry Archie You'll just have to Say tonight Voiced by Keith Wickham It's obvious That it's voiced By Keith Wickham He's actually got

[00:43:21] A posh English accent For some reason He's called Archie He's called Archie And his character Is that he's very sporty He runs around a lot Um That's all I got So I don't have a duck I have Penny the penguin That Mitzi refers to As a duck Penny was so happy To be in the plane And on her way To see all her friends At the homestead

[00:43:52] No Penny the penguin Was in Like One episode As a A guest And she Spoke like Pingu She didn't have A human voice Yes I've I've got that as well Okay But I don't have A duck character That's so weird There's a duck I thought I've got everyone There's the kangaroo girl Yeah she's called Josie You're looking cheerful Today Josie You would be too If you'd been Archie at tennis You Yes

[00:44:20] Isn't he just great Yep so There's Alice She's a platypa That's That's it That's it I saw her beak Alice wasn't sure That she could remember The way But she didn't want To ask George for help She thought she might Look silly Oh Of course I do George It's It's that way Right And there's Lolly Who is an emu Don't forget

[00:44:49] Lolly's puppetry Tonight After tea At the waterhole Oh I never met her I don't think I met her either Yeah I do not recall To meeting the duck So if there is in fact a duck All I know is That'll be the platypus All I know is Okay Alright Okay Okay Yeah because No because there is Penny the penguin But Mitzi calls her a duck She's like that's a duck Really Yeah Oh that's weird Yeah It's a strange looking dog It's a weird looking dog

[00:45:20] What are the Wright brothers called? Is one called Frank? Frank and Lloyd? Is it Frank and Lloyd? Why? Why? Why? Yeah Because I want Because they're kind of Wright brothers No Wilbur Wilbur and Orville Wilbur and Orville Of course Of course Of course they are Yeah I don't know Because they're two brothers That fly a plane That's why When you're out of Fly in the sky I said to Elsie Was that there's

[00:45:49] Kind of no reason For the plane And I did at one point They were like Oh we're gonna go look For this in the plane And I was like Seems like you're Wasting fuel This is a short journey Why are you flying On the plane? But also if you have a plane And you never fly What's the point in having a plane? No that's true I just was Sat there Just had a moment of Private plane people I was like Their neighbours are 120 miles away Because they live In the middle of nowhere That'll be it Yeah That's what I thought The drive it would take Them to get to their neighbours It's like 11 hours

[00:46:18] Oh no they'd die Should we talk a bit About the setting Or do you want to talk More about the characters first? That's up to you guys What I was gonna ask next Was did either of you Watch this when you were kids? Yes Because I was talking To my mum and dad About this on the phone The other day And they don't really Remember it Which I think is really straight And I do not remember Watching this either I remember the concept Of the show And I remember it being on And it being for Two to six year olds And coming out between 2003 and 2007 That's like That is like the perfect

[00:46:49] Release for my age Like I was the right age At the right time And didn't watch it I And I don't know why I was five when it came out Or I think And I was My watching age was like Dragged up by my brother So it makes sense That I didn't watch it Any sign of him yet? Bust up No Frank Hang on There he is He's by the crossroads Having a cup of tea I mean I like to say That I watched A lot of what

[00:47:19] My parents watched But when it came out I was four And I would have Just been watching Kids TV Yeah And apparently Diagnosis murder Yeah Apparently I was obsessed With that as a kid So maybe I was too busy Watching Diagnosis murder Dick Van Dyke Than Than watching The Koala Brothers I remember trying to Sneak into my parents Watching Lost I would be like Sat on the stairs Like watching them Watch Lost Through the banister And I was just like I don't know why

[00:47:49] I'm doing this I don't know what's going on This is adult TV It's very confusing Which is Which is true of Lost For adults So No I did watch this I just I remember watching it I remember liking it I didn't remember A single thing about it Apart from It was Two koalas In a plane That's it It's a strange Setting It's a strange Premise Premise It is It's odd So they make Continent references To the homestead So the koala brothers

[00:48:19] Seem to live On a homestead Which is just a house In the middle of nowhere It's not like a farm A homestead It's supposed to be Like a ranch Yeah So they're supposed To have cattle But it sort of Throws a question Into it Of like If you guys can talk Surely Any animals you have Should be able To talk as well What they have Is a cabin Yeah And a caravan That their little son lives in Yeah He's not allowed In the house I thought that For some reason

[00:48:48] I don't know why I thought that There'd be a lot more Of an engineering theme No I I love you They kick about In like overalls And One of them Is always wearing a jumper Yeah Yes One of them Is in like A big yellow turtleneck It's a very nice Because he's a pilot Yeah It's a nice jumper But it's like Mate You are in the middle Of Australia What are you doing You're already covered in fur You're covered in fur What is there for you To eat here I was just like

[00:49:17] I think it's a great jumper Like I was trying to Look at it To see if it was real But It is I think it is But As in real wool Yeah Some of the clothes You can tell are real Because there's A bit where I think it's Archie Is wearing like A tracksuit And they've just used A real zip on it You can tell Because the zip's massive Oh that's cute I love that That's really cool Yeah like his jumper's Very oversized Which makes sense And it's like But it's using Very thin yarn I'm like okay Someone did make A little jumper For him Aww

[00:49:47] Isn't it Yeah It looks really nice It's a very nice Looking show I was saying to you Oh yeah It really is Quite different To a lot of the stuff Yeah At the time I think anyway Well I was saying to Meg What it reminds me of Like the way the characters move The sort of weight Of the characters And the way that they Sort of exist In relation to the setting It feels very much Like Bob the Builder The characters move In exactly the same way I would not be surprised If Hit Entertainment

[00:50:16] Was involved in some way In the Koala Brothers Because it just feels Like it was made In exactly the same way And the texture of it Just feels like that Yeah What I did notice Is that Frank and Buster Are always smiling Always Always smiling Even when something Is going wrong They're like saying Oh no We need to go and help him Through smiles on their face Like as if they're Enjoying it And I'm like

[00:50:45] There's not that much motion They're quite No Not static They're like Quite stiff characters Yeah They're quite stiff But also quite smug As it turns out I get to fix Everyone's problems I never have a problem Of my own We're here to help Yeah Oh Frank Buster I'm so glad You're here What's the matter Josie Is there a problem I don't know Lolly won't tell us Don't worry Josie Whatever the problem is I'm sure Frank

[00:51:15] Can come up with a solution Why don't you take us To Lolly Josie And we'll see What we can do One thing about this show So I watched Quite a lot of episodes Of this I watched one Where Mitzi wasn't Understanding the jokes That Buster was telling So she Goes around Trying to make Her own jokes But she's just Playing pranks On people That are upsetting people There's One where They're holding A sports day And George Doesn't sign up For anything Because he feels Like he's not

[00:51:45] Good at any sports So they have to Help him Work out what He's good at It's quite a lot Of sports theme In the fields Yes Australians There is An episode Where Archie Hurts his ankle And he doesn't Want to tell anyone So they have to Help him Do things This is greed The reason that He doesn't want To tell anyone Is because he Wants to be involved In the tennis Tournament He wants to win The tennis trophy Because he wants

[00:52:15] The tennis trophy Greed And then at the End of the episode The narrator is like And that just Goes to show That if you're hurt You should tell someone Yeah Yeah That's the lesson That I've said You should always Tell someone When you're hurt Which is You know A fair thing To tell Two to six Year olds It's not Heavily lesson Based But they managed To find one Yeah You're welcome Lolly We had a Great time So thanks To the Koala Brothers Lolly's annual Puppet show Was a great Success

[00:52:44] And Lolly Learned That if you Turn to your Friends for Help Things usually Work out Okay In the end The point I'm making Is that this More than Any show That we've Covered Of this Kind of Structure Made me Feel Like A fantastic Parody Of this Sort of thing Would be to Just redo it And not Resolve the Problem And each Episode Would end With a Character Feeling

[00:53:13] Awful Just sad And left Out of the Group Like Because before It gets Resolved There is a Sadness in This show Like I'm not Trying to sound Too wanky But like Things like 64 Zulane Does this 64 Zulane Has this Sort of Social message Structure But I never Feel Like Anyone Is Having Any real Genuine Problems Like Everything's Going to Be okay If they Carry on

[00:53:43] Doing this Everything Will be Fine But Everyone Will Kind of Think They're A dick But with This Because it's Such a Tight Knit Community And the Characters Are like A solid And real Because it's Stop motion That it Felt Higher Stakes For the Characters To get Their Problem Solved Because it Actually Seemed Like they Were Sad And I was Watching it And I Was thinking If If the Koala Brothers Don't Step in And help And work Out what The problem Is This Resentment Could grow Here in This Community

[00:54:13] Resentment Could grow And that's Just how I felt About it Morning George Just getting A little Training In For Mits's Sports Day I'm In The High Jump What Will You Be Entering In Old Chap George Really Didn't Want To Admit That He Wasn't Good At Anything So He Decided To Make Up A Story Oh I'm Not Going To The Sports Day I'm I'm Ill Really You Look As Fit As Fiddle To Me Ah No No I I meant

[00:54:43] I'm Going To Be Ill Tomorrow Yes That's It I'm Gonna Be Too Ill For The Sports Day Do You Know What This Show Reminded Me Of No That Documentary You Watched Oh Oh My God Yes So There's A Documentary I Think It's In Two Parts It's On Netflix It's Called Last Stop Larimer And It's An Australian Town With A Population Of Eleven And One Person Went Missing And For The Whole

[00:55:12] Documentary It's Kind Of Assumed That He's Dead And Only Someone In The Village Could Have Murdered Them But You Just Don't Know You Don't Know And It Is One Of The Most Miserable Things I Have Ever Seen In My Under The Age Of Sixty It Was Just Such A Miserable Show It Was

[00:55:43] Fascinating But Yeah It Was It Was Great Yeah Reminded Of That It Very Much Is That Yeah It Was A Average Younger Age I Assume This One's Got A Yeah It's Today Everyone's Going It's Over At Red Rock Well Yeah And like Frank and

[00:56:12] Buster They solve People's Problems For free Just because It's nice To have Happy People In the Community You know They Give Their Tools And Shit To Fixing Things There's No And There's Like No Hierarchy Really In The Community It's Kind Of You Have To Pull Resources If You Live In The Middle Of Nowhere Like

[00:56:42] Ridiculous How In The Middle Of Nowhere They Are He Said He's Going To Shots That Are Really Stunning Establishing Shots They've Just Gone

[00:57:12] We've Got This Set Let's Let's Play With It Kind Of Thing And They're Really Good And I was Like Why Is There Were Long Shots As well This is A two Second Shot In A Kids Show That's Ten Minutes Long That's Just Showing How Pretty It Looks Fair Fair Enough At Risk Of Sounding Too Old If They Made It Now It Would Be Like Very Smooth CGI Yeah And Really Rapid Shots It Wouldn't Be Yeah Petition For Them To Never Remake The Koala Brothers I Don't Think We're In Dangerous I

[00:58:00] Buckle Up Buckle Up There's Something That annoyed Me Actually About This Every Time They Get In The Plane They Well Firstly They Say Chucks Away And They Have A Shot Of Him Pulling Out The Thing The Things From The Chucks I Guess And I Was Like Oh Today I've Learned What A Chock Is Did You Though Yeah I Did What's A Chock It's Well They Pull It's Something You Pull On

[00:58:30] It's Like It's Know What That Term Meant And Now I Do They Pull The Things Out From Under The Wheels So That It Can Drive Off It's Like A It's Like A Handbrake But Am I Wrong Why Are You Looking At That Am I Wrong What Is You That I Didn't Know No No No No No

[00:59:04] That Well Enough So That's What That Term Means And Then They Drive The Plane Through A Gate It's Like Why Do You Have A Fence And A Gate That Is Just Wide Enough To Fit A Plane Through You're Using It So Much Get Rid Of The Whole Thing Because Then When They Turn The Corner Ned The Wombat Might Run Away Well Ned The Wombat Is Always The One With The Little Paddles That's Showing Them Where To Go As If They

[00:59:34] Need It They Do This Every Day And When They Turn The Corner To Get On To The Runway Which Is Just The Road Their wing Clips Their Little Post Box And It Breaks All The Time And They Repaired It A Million Times It Like Get Rid Of It Then Just Annoyed Me

[01:00:04] I Don't Know About You Guys But I Don't Want Anyone Fixing My Problems Who Can't Fly A Plane Properly None Of More To Say About This Show I Want To Know Why They Said It In The Middle Of The Northern

[01:00:34] Territory Like This Is More Remote Than Alice Springs Uluru Is Around The Corner Why Not An Awful Lot To To Change In The That's It's Quite A Basic Thing To Build It Looks Nice Anyway But Like Really When It I Mean It's Set There Because The Book Is Set There And The Book Won't Have Thought Yeah All Of These Animals Live In The Bush Yeah It's Just A Funny Story A lot

[01:01:04] Easier To Animate There Was Unfortunately Nothing Controversial On Common Sense Media About The Kuala Brothers But People Were Kind Of Praising It For The Fact That Their Kids Were Getting Exposed To Animals That They Wouldn't Normally Know What They Are I Couldn't Even Say Echidna At The Beginning Of This Episode And I Struggled Just Now I'm 27 And I Struggle To Identify The Animals I Don't Think They're That Good Because She Thought One Was A Duck Yeah

[01:01:33] I Don't Think They're Very Good Approximations Of The Animals I'll Be Honest I Think Most Of Them Are They Are But How Am I Identifying A Possum And A Wombat It Just Looks Like Two Bears I Love Wombats They Are So Unbelievably Cute Me Me

[01:02:18] I Like That They're Kind Of Upheaving The Stereotype That Koalas Are Lazy Good For Nothing Piece Of Shit That's True Though That's Not A Stereotype It's Just True Sorry You Can't Eat The Food If I've Given It

[01:02:48] That's All The People That Live In A Commune Yeah Filthy I'm not Worried Lolly's Ice Creams Are The Best Thing For Keeping Cool Keeping Cool Isn't The Problem Ned The Problem Is The Sun's Harmful Ways Harmful Ways They Sound Scary I Like That The Show Doesn't Really Have A Kind Of Over Message To It I Like That It

[01:03:17] Does It Does It's Different Every Time There's Overtones Of There's There's Just A Lot There's So Much Talking That I'm Not Sure How Relevant The Narrator Is It Tells A lot Of The In Between Stuff But When

[01:03:47] There's A Narrator In A Kids TV Show You Kind Of Expect There To Less Dialogue From The Characters But There Is Just A Lot Of Talking Yeah I guess It's To Make It Feel Like Because Narrator Talks At The Beginning At The End To Make It Feel Like The Beginning And End Of A Story Yeah Once Every Year Lolly The Emu Did Something Really Special She Turned Her Ice Cream Van Into A Little Theatre And

[01:04:27] That's Not Bad For A Podcast Episode Though Yeah I Know It's Not Bad It's Short For Earth Yeah Not Too Much Not Too Much I'm Gonna Ask A Question Feel Like I Already Know The Answer Is There Anything More To Say About This Show No We Genuinely Tried We Genuinely Took A Break Went Right Let's Ruffle Up Some Ideas And Unfortunately There Were None I

[01:05:09] Watch It Of My Own Free Will And Choice I Wouldn't Need To Be Forced To Watch It But It's Just Not That Interesting It's Not That Funny Either Like Sometimes You Know Like It's Funny To Go Back And Watch The Teletubbies Because Fuck Spectacle Yeah And It's Quite Funny But This No It's Just Nice It's Just Nice Yeah That's All It Is Yeah The Only Other Thing

[01:05:54] I Of Animal Characters That's Also 64 Zulane I Think Yeah That's True Yeah It's Also A lot Of Buddhist Parables Sorry You You Did Say That In The 64 Zulane Episode To Be Fair You Say it Peppa Pig Though Did

[01:06:31] In And Koala Brothers Is Not Yeah They're Like It's Dark Sided There's Something Malicious Yeah There's Creeping Insidious Yeah In The DNA Of Peppa Pig There's Something Malevolent Yeah There is Yeah This No Malevolence No Just Nice But Unfortunately There's Not An

[01:07:03] People Involved And The Best I Got Was Getting Sacked Because Chris Chris Evans Is Spoiling Deathly Hallows Yeah Getting Suspended That's Quite Funny To Be

[01:07:34] Tangible And You Will Also Been At The Age Where You Will Have Been Aware Of It It Was A Weird One Because It's Like I Think I Had Been Completely Unaware Of The Books Entirely And Then I Remember Coming To School When Deathly Hallows Was Coming Out Or Had Come Out And It Was The First Time I Not People Talking About Every Every Cunt Got The Book I I Think My Friends Had Been Reading It To I Was Off Pulling Grass Out

[01:08:03] I Remember Finding It Really Scary And Making My Up To Order Of The Phoenix But He Didn't Talk About The Books And I Remember Trying To Read Deathly Hallows And Not I Would Not Have In My Head At The

[01:08:33] Age I Was Phrased It Like This But I Did Not Like Her Prose I Remember Reading It Being Like Why Is It I I Didn't I Didn't Enjoy Reading It They Are What They Are You Know It We We've Spoken About Harry Potter Here Before There's Lots Of Complicated Discussions To Have About Harry Potter

[01:09:03] What I Would Say Is That I'm Like Generally Quite Like Harry Potter As a Franchise But You Know I Do I Need To Despite All It's Fault Despite All Her Fault Well No It I'm I'm Kind Of Glad I Quite Like The Stories Whatever I'm Not Going To Watch A Film Or Read A Book For A Good Few

[01:09:33] Years I Don't Need To I Know Harry Potter Well Enough Yeah Oh They Are Getting Absolutely Consumed By The Twilight Yeah So It's Like I Can't Be Speaking To Some Kind Of Pretentious Nine Year Old I Don't Like Her

[01:10:03] Pros But I Don't Mind It When There's Vampires Immediately Then Getting Like Really Into Vampire Books I Have No Legs To Stand On Mitzi And Ned Worked Really Hard Helping Lolly To Perform Her Puppet Show They Knew The Show Had Finished And They Lived Happily Ever After Oh

[01:10:32] Well Done You Two Was It Alright Really It Was Better Than Alright Ned It Was Terrific So Would Anyone Suggest A Rewatch Or A Watch For The First Time Yeah Sure Yeah I've Actually Got A Question Of Every Single Episode We In A Show We've Covered Where You Actually Have Gone Back And Watched It Not Just Because We're Doing An Episode On It High Five

[01:11:02] I I Think We All Watched Some More High Five After That I Don't Know What Happened To Us We Were Entranced Oh I I Would And Like I Do Want To Rewatch Owl Service Yes Because I In Talking About It

[01:11:32] Gained A New Appreciation For It I Would Also Rewatch But Haven't Children Of The Stone Yes I've Rewatched Young Dracula I Watched A Bit Of After We Did It I Loved It Yeah I Just Love It It So Good I Would And We Are Going To Keep Watching Sarah Jane Yes That's What We're Going To Do I Actually After I Finished Watching Series Three Of Tracey Beaker I Watched Ahead Of Series Four

[01:12:45] TV Guide And We're Like Playing There's A Few I Would Like Pingu That I Would Probably Be Like Yeah Let's Watch An Episode Of Pingu Why Fuck Not But I Haven't Gone Out Of My Way To Watch Any I Watched Some More Raven Oh I Did Watch That For Really Specific Reasons No No I Actually Did Watch Like You

[01:13:16] What Else I Do Want To Show My Cousins Some Of These But I Don't Know Which On Because We Keep Doing Ones That Are Quite Young Kids Oh I Oh Yeah

[01:13:45] Could You Imagine If One Of Us Was Just In Here On Their Own And One Of Us Came In And They Were Sincerely Watching The Number Jacks I Would 100% Watch Oh My God If One Of You I Was

[01:14:15] So Unhappy That It Doesn't Exist I I watch the pilot right now. Oh, obviously Horrible Histories. We were literally watching it last night. Yeah, because we are who we are. Yeah, you got a little bit of sunstroke. I was only trying to help, you know, like you do. I wanted people to hide until the harmful rays had gone. The harmful rays don't come and get people, Ned. They're just there. They're just part of the sunshine. They're what make you feel ill, Ned. Well, since we've got nothing else to say

[01:14:45] about Koala Brothers, although it is a very lovely show, we have a bit of an announcement. So this has been a very, very busy year for the three of us. And we have been discussing the future of Thoughts TV, which sounds really scary to say. Yeah, don't be scared. Don't be scared. We're not going to stop doing it. Because we love it so much. We are likely going to drop down to doing one series a year,

[01:15:14] because we have other things that we want to do and other things that we're working on. And this is actually a huge commitment and it's getting harder and harder to be able to get the three of us together in a room. Which sounds crazy because, you know, we live together. That's how busy we are. That's how busy we are. Yeah, so we're going to, after this series, take a bit of a break,

[01:15:43] figure out how we're going to do the next series, because currently we do it on like a two-week turnaround time. We're probably not going to do that anymore because it's really difficult, especially for Elsie who edits everything. And we'll be splitting up, leading the episodes a lot more evenly to give Elsie more time to do things that she wants to do. But it's not the end of Thoughts TV. No, it's our baby.

[01:16:13] It is. It's where everything started and the things that we've been busy with have been other podcasts. It's all related. It's all stuff that you will be able to hear. Yeah, you won't be hearing less of us. No, no, no. You'll still, there will still be, our projects will still be happening. But we don't want to stop this because we love it and it's where it all started and all these lovely things that we're doing have come from this. Yeah. And the people that we've met through doing this.

[01:16:41] So don't be scared. We also have, after the series finishes, we have an episode that will come out outside of regular scheduling times as kind of like a bonus episode. And we have another episode that will come up on Patreon as a Patreon exclusive alongside all the other content that comes out on Patreon.

[01:17:09] So that's a good place to find us if you want more content from us. But yeah, we think from now on we will be a one series a year type thing because this has been probably one of the hardest ones to schedule and figure out since we started doing the podcast. So I think we need to figure out a better way of doing it. And seven seasons in, what is it, three or four years? Yeah.

[01:17:39] Not bad going, is it? No. It's not bad. So yeah, things are happening. Things are in the works. It's exciting. But you know, I love doing this so much. I would be so incredibly sad to not do it. But it just has to be a little scale back. It has to be. Because there's lots of things I like doing. Yeah. They're all podcast related. Elsie doesn't do anything else. But we'd like to afford her the opportunity to do other things that she likes to do.

[01:18:10] Including going on a date maybe. Probably not. But you know. Oh no, now we've scaled it back to one season a year. You have to. There's no excuse. There's no excuse. You must. So yeah. So when this season commences and we've done our... There'll probably be a Christmas special. But we won't... We will not then return until next year. And we will be doing other podcast related things. Which we will announce when... When they are relevant. Yes.

[01:18:40] When they're ready. When they're ready. Yeah. Yeah. But you know. If we cut down on Thoughts TV. They will be ready a lot sooner for you guys. Excited about some of them. Yeah. No. We're very excited about all the stuff that we've got planned. There's a lot of stuff going on. Stuff that maybe we... Maybe we've not even necessarily created ourselves that we'll be involved in. Very exciting. Very exciting.

[01:19:06] And we would not be able to do all these things were it not for you guys listening to us and supporting us and making this the success it has been. So thank you for that. And thank you for your patience. And some of you have really been here from the beginning. Like you really have. So... And we know you now. And we're friends with you. And it just means so much that you supported this. So thank you. Yeah. I mean, it's like a dream come true.

[01:19:34] Being able to go to the things that we go to and meet the people that we meet and do a fun thing with each other. Yeah. So thank you. And with that, I think I'm going to go and shave my legs because it's hot now. And I would like to be able to say that I don't care. But unfortunately, I put my glasses on this morning and I thought, oh, maybe I do care. You know, I can see them for what they are now. Both assessing our situations on our lives.

[01:20:02] I mean, I thought about doing mine this morning. I'm going to do it tomorrow. I can't be bothered. I don't think I could be bothered. I've had a shower. I'm not getting back into the shower. Same. But I just don't think I've got anything to wear tonight that is like long legged and cool. Long legged. Yeah. What is the temperature going to be? 25. Tonight? Yeah. 25. What the fuck? I can manage jeans. Really? I can manage jeans in 25. Wow. Okay.

[01:20:31] It's only 28% humidity. Yeah, that's right. Four o'clock in the morning, it'll be 15 degrees. Oh, lovely. I'm going to be in bed though. I got up in the middle of the night and I came and stood in the living room for like five minutes and I thought about sitting on the balcony, but that, the guy who always looks at the rain, lights on, curtains open, like three or four mates all sat around the window.

[01:20:56] And I was like, I feel like I'm intruding if I go and sit on my own balcony. I walked in, I turned around and I left. We have a window buddy now who responds the same terrain as me and Meg. Wow. And me. You haven't been here when it happened yet. I have, we've been here for six years. Yeah. I have been in this room when the rain has been coming down. Have you seen the guy who comes out across the road? Oh, the guy. No, I haven't seen the guy to be fair.

[01:21:25] There was also some Italian man yelling at nothing the other day, delivering packages and three people on the other side of our road all came out to look down and I was like, oh, I love London. I love it so much. All of us were like, why are you yelling, mate? No one said anything. We were all just watching. God, those foxes last night were a bit relentless. No. Fucking relentless. I was going to message you, but I was like, last time I was messaging. You did message me. I did? Yeah. Oh, okay. I was asleep by that point. Yeah. I had heard it. They were screaming.

[01:21:54] Like, it's so hard to... Oh, dear. Like, just one as well, I swear. Usually it's a fight and then it's over soon. No, this was just one catawalling at like three o'clock in the morning for hours. Oh, God. Sometimes you just want to go down and help them. I know. I was like, what's wrong? And I resist the urge to look out my window because it's a fox. It's always a fox. But they sound so much like dogs, cats or children screaming that you're like, no, I need to check. It's like, it's always a fox. Just stay in bed.

[01:22:24] When will you learn? It's always a fox. It's always a fox. Because I think the fox that used to live there is dead now, which was a very sad day for me and probably his family. So I think now it's a new fox and this fox is so fucking loud.

[01:22:46] Well, that's the penultimate episode of the season. Then get keen for the next one because it is Tracy Beaker, series four. So we have to do another season of Thoughts TV because we need to finish Tracy Beaker. And now we also need to finish Sarah Jane. Don't worry, you've got us for a while. We're locked in.
