Podomedy original Dexplorers has been named among the British Podcast Awards winners 2026, taking Silver in the Best History category.
The independent kids’ history podcast was recognised at the British Podcast Awards ceremony at indigo at The O2 in London on 1 October, finishing behind BBC Long Form Audio’s The House at Number 48, which took Gold.
Created for children aged 7–11 and their grown-ups, Dexplorers turns history into screen-free audio adventures, following Dex and his junior Dexplorers as they uncover stories, solve mysteries and hear echoes from the past.
The series was also shortlisted for Best Kids Podcast at the 2026 awards.
Dexplorers joins the British Podcast Awards winners 2026
The Silver award places Dexplorers among the British Podcast Awards winners 2026 and recognises an independently produced show alongside some of the UK’s best-known history podcasts and broadcasters.
Damien St John, Co-Founder and CEO of Podomedy and creator of Dexplorers, said:
“History is full of the things children already love: mystery, danger, extraordinary characters and incredible stories. Audio gives them the space to build those worlds in their own imagination rather than having everything shown to them on a screen.
“If we can get kids listening, asking questions and wanting to find out what happened next, that’s incredibly powerful. For a small independent production like ours to win Silver alongside some of the biggest names in British podcasting is very special.”
Dexplorers is produced by independent UK podcast network Podomedy and is available on all major podcast platforms.
The result adds Dexplorers to the growing list of British Podcast Awards winners 2026 and marks another award recognition for Podomedy’s original podcast slate.
