
Podomedy celebrates writer and producer Philip Catherwood after he was selected for the Belfast hub of BBC Writers’ Voices 2026.
Philip is among the emerging writers taking part in the BBC’s regional Voices development groups, designed to nurture distinctive writing talent from across the UK and Republic of Ireland. He is also the creator, writer and producer of the science-fiction comedy podcast The Dial-Up, which is part of the Podomedy network. The series follows an internet support technician who discovers he can communicate with people in the past and future through a mysterious cosmic anomaly.
The Dial-Up won Best Fiction at the 2024 Independent Podcast Awards and received Bronze for Best Fiction at the 2024 British Podcast Awards.

BBC Writers’ Voices is a regional development programme supporting emerging screenwriters from across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Participants receive industry and craft training, build professional networks and develop an original television series idea with support from the BBC Writers team.
