Jahannah James is a British actress, comedian, writer and digital creator. With training in costume for film & theatre and at the London School of Dramatic Art, she works across television, film, sketch comedy and online content.
Television: Recent roles include Deep Heat (ITV2), Emmerdale (ITV), Sister Boniface Mysteries (BBC), Maternal (ITV).
Film: Featured in Brotherhood directed by Noel Clarke, Scottish Mussel (Talulah Riley’s directorial debut), Body of Water (BBC Films).
Sketch Comedy & Online Originals: Part of the creative duo James and Craig (with Sophie Craig). They wrote eight original comedy shorts for BBC 3’s Quickies — including sketches like When Women Act Like Men, When Women Catcall Men and When You Pretend to Like Your Haircut. These sketches have attracted over 30 million views collectively.
Awards / Recognition: Co-wrote Lord Doritos and the Deadly Duel, winning the Doritos Film Competition and the International Davey Award.
Jahannah’s work often blends observational humour with character comedy, tackling modern gender norms, everyday life and identity. As a performer, she has accomplished strong crossover presence: appearances in mainstream TV and film, creative control in web-sketch production, and brand collaborations.
